"Did you want to talk about anything?" Biddy asked, not wanting to sit here in silence.

Victor snickered. "You're not trying heard enough, Shay," he called back in a sing-songy voice.

"Boring," Biddy said with a shrug. "I never really liked it there. I found my nitch of friends and all, and I guess I was well-liked there, but I wasn't really enjoying life there."

Victor chuckled at Shay's lack of response and stopped between two trees, resting his back on one and his foot on the other.

"Yeah," Biddy said. "I wouldn't won't to go back."

"That's cause we're not all the way there yet,' Victor said, like Shay was oblivious to the obvious. "You that?" he asked, pointing to a small cave like entrance a few feet away. "That's where we're going."

"What about you?" Biddy asked, wanting to know more about Asher. It seemed that she had been rambling on about her life since they met.

"That would be telling, wouldn't it?" Victor said with a smirk. He winked at her before walking towards the cave.

"I don't know," Biddy said with a shrug. "Anything."

Victor ducked inside the cave. It was small, so he had to keep his head low.

"Um, I dunno," Biddy said, biting her lip as she tried to think of something. "What about you're family?" she asked finally, thinking it would be an innocent enough question. "Any siblings?"

"I didn't pick it," Victor said, forgetting that Shay probably couldn't see as well in the dark as him. He eaily avoided the lower parts of the cave ceiling and the tree roots at the bottom. "Who ever created this world picked to have a really small and very difficult to move in cave. Depending on your beliefs, that could be a number of different people."

"Oh," Biddy said, looking at her folded hands.

Victor rolled his eyes at Shay as he reached behind his back and caught her hand midfall. Still looking ahead and walking forward, he said, "How about I give you a little warning." Not a minute went by before he said, "Duck," just as he lowered hi head to avoid a low hanging part of the ceiling.
