Sadie watcged, horrified and helpless. She couldn't fight, not right now. She padded painfully over to Riley, burying her muzzle in his thick and blood-stained fur. "No," she whispered, her vision blurring with tears. "Don't leave me." The tears escaped from her amber eyes, falling and soaking into Riley's fur.

Aaron nodded. "We have to go now!" he said, then headed over to where his brother layed.
Riley lifted his head slightly, looking weakly at Sadie. "Don't...worry. I'll be... fine. As long as... I reach... the vet," he almost coughed. His heart began to pound as the bullet lodged in his chest moved closer towards the center of his lungs.
Aaron nodded once more and said, "Yes. We need to take my brother, Ace, and everyone else who is injured to the vet! It's our best shot at keeping them alive! Those who aren't injured need to carry someone! I'll carry Riley. Rick, Jess, would you mind carrying Ace and Dark?"

Konan opened his eyes and sat up, Nika was cold, very cold. "Don't worry Nika, you're not going to die, I won't let that happen." Said Konan, his voice sounded slightly raspy, as if he were about to cry, but he didnt cry. Instead he slid his muzzle under Nika's back and flipped her up slightly, catching her on his back. He then started to carry her in the direction of the vets. It wasn't long until he heard gunshots near by and he broke into a careful run. After the gunshots ceased, Konan calmed down and slowed to a walk. They were now at the vets. Konan looked at Nika, who was still on his back, she looked weak and she felt very cold. Konan didn't know how much longer Nika would be able to hold on for. Konan scratched at the door. No answer. He began scratching at it furiously. Still no answer. Konan gently dropped Nika onto the soft, white snow and once again scratched at the door, this time with so much furosity, splinters began to fly. "Let us in or I'll turn this door into toothpicks!" He barked. This time, a man in a white coat opened the door and Konan rushed in, dragging Nika by the scruff. Konan whined and looked up at the man with pleading eyes.

The man looked down at Nika and sighed "Oh my!" He exclaimed "Man came be such a beast..." He picked the black female up and read her collar Nika K-9 it read and he pet her head gently."I don't think you'll make it girl." He and his staff of nurses gave her medication and fixed her wounds and put tubes all over her.

Aaron nodded at Jess and Rick. He then picked up his brother. "Riley, which way is it?" he asked.
Riley's eyes were only slightly open. "That way..." he said weakly. He lifted his paw slightly towards the direction of the vet.
Aaron took Riley's directions and headed towards the animal hospital. "If you guys can run, then run! Some of them can't hold on for much longer," he said as he started to break into a run. "Sadie, are you alright?" he called back as he was still running. He wanted to make sure that one of the only reasons Riley was fighting to stay alive, was near him.

Sadie nodded, barely managing to keep up with them, imping painfully, each move forced. "I'm fine," she said, staring at Riley worriedly. A new emotion blossomed in her. Love. She couldn't bear to see him die, not now. Not ever. "Oh please live Riley," she said. "I love you. You can;t sie," she said softly. The words spilled out of her ownn accord, adn although she was surprised, she wasn't at all embarrassed. It was true after all.

Konan's eyes widened, he had heard what the vet said. "No.." He snarled under his breath. He started throwing himself at the door to the room she was resting in. Finally the door swung open and Konan slipped through, and there, was Nika. She didn't look like herself, her wounds were wrapped in fresh bandages and wires and cords were attatched to her. Konan slowly walked over to the bed they had placed her on and put his front paws up on the bed. "Don't die Nika." He murmured worriedly.

The vet saw Konan and pet his head, Dr.Pawl was a nice man and understood the way of the dog unlike any other two leg.He picked Konan up and placed him in a large kennel with Nika, the tubes were gone but the bandages still remained.She looked up weakly as the pain settled in again "Oh Konan, like I could leave you for even a second.." She whispered as she licked his cheek.

Aaron looked back at the others and said, "Alright guys! We're here!" He scratched at the door until the vet opened it. Aaron whimpered slightly. The vet immediatly recognized Riley and Sadie. He took all of the canines in, and then shut the door. "What happened to ya' fellas?" He then reached to grab Riley, Ace, and Dark off of the others' backs.
Riley whimpered in pain, then turned to Sadie. "I'll... try my...best," he said, then began to close his eyes slowly. "I...love you too," he said, then closed his eyes.

Aaron allowed the vet to take Riley off of his back. He stared as the vet put all three of the injured dogs onto the white examination table.
Riley's eyes opened as he felt warm human hands against his blood stained fur. He soon found that he was laying on top of a white table, next to Ace and Dark. The vet checked him first, shaking his head. "Didn't I just patch you up a while ago buddy?" Riley whimpered. The vet shook his head again, then grabbed bandages and tweezers. He tried to use the tweezers to take out the the bullet, but it was getting dangerously close to his heart. Riley now felt as if his heart was beating a mile a minute, rapidly and he couldn't stop it.

Nika smiled at Riley and the others came in "Riley!" She smiled, happy to see her freinds alive.
The Kennel Nika and Konan are in has no roof to it, its like a corral with foldable walls.

Sadie payed no attention to Nika, refusing to leave Riley's side, his words echoing in her ears, making her feel dizzy. I love you too. He had said that back. He could not die....she wouldn't let him. She watched protectivally and fearfully as the vet treated Riley.
