Nook was awake, but he didn't say a word. He didn't move. He didn't even blink. He stood up and moved like a robot, which Vetch noticed.
Vetch flicked him with his claw and Nook fell over, his legs still moving. "What the-" he said, eyebrows creased. He stood the fox/raccoon back up, then cautiously took his claw and scratched 'Nook' across the back, but to his surprise, there was no blood. There was... some strange white liquid? "This isn't Nook!" Vetch yelled.

Rue scrambled to her feet. "Who is it then?" she demanded. "And where is the actual Nook?" she asked, her throat closing has her mind was filled with gruesome thoughtf.

Vetch and Rue were met by a smack in the jaws with a crobar by Darryl. Or... Markis.
Vetch felt a tooth chip and yelped, then jumped on Darryl and tackled him.
