Skye felt her heart try to beat it's way out of her chest as the decripit mansion loomed over her, made worse by the dark clouds overhead. The perfect way to die. The thought of dying here, right now had leapt into her mind unbidden, and she struggled to shake it off. Even other people being here, having to go with her through this living nightmare wasn't a comfort. Her breaths were shaky as she tried to control the fear coursing through her veins. Her face was pale, her light blue eyes trying to veil the fear shown clearly in their depths. A cold, humid wind blew over her and the others, bringing the tingling smell of lightning and rain.
"You guys ready to go in?" she asked, trying to keep her voice as calm and level as humanly possible. SHe looked back at the others, hearing her own shaky voice. She obviously hadn't succeeded in being 'calm and collected'. She swallowed hard as she remembered every FBI, CSI, crime, and horror show ever watched, each playing the worst moments over and over in her mind. All the nightmares she had as a kid, every fearful moment seemed to come together inside her brain, making the nerve-wracking day seem more ominous.

Zac walked finally onto the abandoned mansion's front lawn. He smiled. When Skye asked if everyone was ready, his smile turned into a grin. "Heck yeah!" he said in an almost laughing tone, then he walked into the building. The floor and walls had wood paneling. But both the walls and floor creaked as he stepped into the building. The floor seemed to be ripped apart in some places, spider webs on the corners of walls. It looked almost as if it had been decorated for halloween, except without the pumpkins and ghosts. As he walked further inside, he yelled to the others, "C'mon guys!"

Connor stood quietly staring at the dark and looming house, a nervous Mort hovering behind him. A chilly wind blew some of his hair over his eyes and he peered through it. The light of the approaching night made it look all the more creepy, but he only stared back, as if challenging the house to try and scare him. It creaked and moaned under its own weight. He started to wonder if it would collapse on them while they were still inside. 'Pff.' He thought. 'I doubt it. Way to go if it did though... on a freakin' dare.' Zac was of course the first to enter the old deathtrap. Connor watched him examine the house a bit before calling to them and entering the hall further. 'Well... it hasn't fallen on top of him. That's gotta be a good sign.' He sighed and stepped forward. "Let's get this over with."~ Quaking in his shoes once more, Mort stood close behind Connor. The place looked so threatening... even though it was just a house. It didn't help that he couldn't get the image of a mangled body out of his head. What if that became one of them?! He wanted to try to talk Connor out of this. It wouldn't be hard. He was only there to look after him wasn't he? It was why he was always getting in trouble for fights. 'It's not because Con's a bad guy...' he thought guiltfully, '...it's because he's always lookin' after me. He wouldn't need to get into trouble if I wasn't always getting bullied for my height or smarts... or just being a mort.' He decided this time, to not only be brave (pretend or no) for Izzy, but to prove to Connor that he didn't need to protect him all the time. He'd even go to the opposite end of the house.
Connor moved forward and approached the house and Mort started to feel fear again for the change, but he just took a mental breath and followed...

Skye walked inside after Mort, Connor, and Zac. Every step made a loose board creak and groan, and soon she was practically twitching, she was so jumpy. She drew in a shaky breath, a shadow seeming to move as she blinked. She clenched her hands into hard fists, determined not to look scared before the others, and not to chicken out. All of her determination to stay inside for as long as it took practically disappeared as another board creaked, bu from another hall. She stilled the shriek that rose up in her, only turning a bit pale, her blue eyes widening fractionaly.

Zac laughed as he walked through the building. "What's so creepy about this place? Sure it creaks, but so what?" he almost said to himself. Soon he heard a low growl that seemed to be from some sort of angry dog. And although he felt like he was being watched, he shook it off. He kept walking and soon joined Skye. "So, how do you feel about the mansion?" he asked her.

"It's creeping me out," she confided in him throwing a superstitious glance behind her as she spoke. "What do you think about it?" she asked, her blue gaze returning to Zac.
