Russet smiled a bit at her interest, but then sighed. "Drakaar was always teased and made fun of for being less important.

'I power the sun. I am important!' Sol had said with pride.

'I power the moon! I am certainly just as important!' Lunos has snapped at Sol.

'What do you power Drakaar?! That's right, darkness. Not as important as the sun and moon.' Sol snorted.

Drakaar was always less appreciated than his brothers and he began to feel jealous of them. His mother could notice the change, but she didn't mention it.

One night, Drakaar tried to kill his brother, Lunos and take over his job. But Lunos managed to defend himself.

The next morning, early when the sun was just beginning to rise, Drakaar did the same, but with Sol. He suceeded in injuring him, but not killing.

Unfortunately, Sol told his father and mother. Father Time was so upset at his son for trying to kill Sol that he exiled his son and told him to become the devil for all animals and to wait for evil ones like him at the gates of Hell."

He sighed. "Drakaar had an evil mind, very cunning. He never wanted evil, but it came to him. I only compared him to you because of the same cunning. And to me because I am an evil one like him. And he'll be waiting for me at the gates of Hell."

"You don't know half of my story. You don't know the other half of me. And when I'm around you, it's extremely hard to release that side." he sighed. "You saw a small bit of that side the day I wanted to kill Julius. But that was barely anything." He shook his head.

He sighed. "I don't think you'll want to hear that. It.... might not be the best thing." he said grimly, laughing hysterically and thinking about his haunting memories, nightmares, bad habits, misery, dead ends, his plea for a good life. His final blessings before he changed.

"I can't. I won't. As much as I'd like to tell you, I honestly don't know if I can take it. It was painful living it once. Living it a second time...." he trailed off, shaking his head.

"I would if I knew it wouldn't end up hurting me." he said. "I just don't think I want to relive my past." He sighed and closed his eyes in pain.

Russet licked her nose, a coming gesture used by wolves to show appreciation. "So now what?" he asked her, rather bored and willingly changing the subject.

Russet licked his lips at the thought of fresh food. He nodded and began heading out the door.

Russet nuzzled her and bounded out the door. "You know what's weird?" he asked.
