Shadow smiled "When am I not?" he joked.

Rayni laughed weakly. "Never..."

Shadow smiled and spun around at a noise behind him.

One of the wolves looked confused "Sir...You hate Raynileese..." he traile doff. putting two and two together.

Shadow gulped "I-I-I-"

"You Betrayed us!" one yelled.

Shadow looked away "Look! Rayni Never did half the things I said..." heis voice was about to break.

"Shadow, no! Don't..." she murmered, using up the last of her strength. She felt the gash on her stomach reopen, and blood poured ou again. "Don... Dont do it..." Her head hung limp from exhaustion, and soon all she saw was black.

Ebony hastily pushed some leaves against her side to stop the bleeding.

When the bleeding stopped, Rayni regained a but of consciousness. "Shadow..." Rayni coughed. "Your pack needs you... Leave us... Ebony and I will be fine..."

Shadow looked back and instantly reretted it. He looked back to the small group who were obviously not happy "I dont think Thats how theyd put it Rayni" he said.

"Shadow, you are their leader! Without you, they'd just be a group of mangey dogs! Look at them! They're well fed, well trained... Well led... By a great leader... Shadow, that's you."

Shadow looked suddenly really beaten down "I've been a rubbish Leader Rayni and you know it!" he snapped. He looked bak at the small roup and yelped as one hit him across the muzzle.

"YOU TRAITOR" roared the wolf "I cant beloiev we followed you" he slashed oped Shadows shoulder.

Rayni growled and struggled to get up. She limped over, and stood infront of Shadow. All eyes were on her. The cobwebs peeled off, revealing the long new gash the bear had given her. She snarled, baring her teeth. "Don't touch my brother!"

The wolf backed off in fear from the look in raynis eyes.

Shadow looked up at Rayni "You dont have to do this sis" he whispoered

Rayni ignored his comment. She took a few steps forward, glaring at the wolves infront of her. Her eyes burned like fire, taunting you to try her out, but also holding a consiquence that was far worse than a little scorched fur.

Ebony stepped forwards, "Rayni" he whispered trying to calm her down.

Shadow struggled to his feet "Stop sis"

Rayni whipped her head around and snarled, but her eyes softened when ahe saw the worry in Ebony's eyes. Her head hung limply. She glared one last time at the wolf who had slashed shadow, stomped to scare him, then turned and stood between her brother and Ebony.
