Racheal's mouth curled into a smile as she managed to say, "Impossible." She said with a slight grin. She knew he was holding her hand again and so she closed her fingers again. This time she had a bit more strength and a bit more grip. She looked over at the medics as they began to clean up around her and they tossed a thin blanket over her legs.

Rikkes chuckled softly, "Oh, I think you could do it, with a bit of help." he said and grinned, sitting back in the chair he was in, glad she was alright, calm now.

Racheal shook her head, "There is no help for someone as headstrong as me." She said and took a deep breath. "Everybody in these kingdoms and all of the above kingdoms know my name and my face. I'm wanted. I've got bounties bigger than this kingdom down on my head right now in the Southern Kingdom." She sighed. "The scars from my past run deeper than you think in some places."

Rikkes nodded, "Still, scars can heal and fade, if not all the way, but mostly if you allow them." he said softly, not trying to be annoying, just trying to help.

Racheal turned her head and looked at him, her yellow eyes questioning and bright. "The deepest scars will leave marks." She said, moving the arm where she had the stitches in. She looked straight again as one Medic began to sweep the floor quietly around her bed. He had been listening to Racheal. A bounty? He thought of turning her in for a reward beyond his wildest dreams. But he would wait till Rikkes was asleep.

Rikkes shook his head, "They may leave marks, but they also fade with time, and when they don't they are easily forgotten." he said softly, giving her a sad smile.

Racheal could only take a deep breath, the medics were leaving the room now to go sleep in the office. That was the rules. She lay her head back and looked at the ceiling. She wondered if Kailen was panicing or freaking out yet. She smiled at the thought and sighed happily, recalling some of her only memories with him.

Rikkes sighed, sitting back, "Well, you need to rest, I'll send someone to tell your brother that you're alright and stay here with you." he said, getting up to send someone to Kailen.

Racheal nodded and attempted to shift on the table, which only resulted in her hurting her shoulder worse. She sighed and lay still, keeping on her back and shutting her eyes. The constant sound of muffled chatter and carts clattering down the cobblestone rodes soothed her into a sleep. The first real sleep she had in a very long time.

Rikkes paid a young boy a few coins and sent him on his way to tell her brother that she was alright. He sat by her again, taking her hand gently in his again and smiling slightly, slowly drifting off.

The medic that had thought about turning Racheal in sighed as he saw Rikkes' sleeping next to her. How could he have thought about turning Racheal in? How could he have thought about turning this girl in, taking her away from the people who obviously loved her. He sighed, grabbing a thin sheet and throwing it loosely over Rikkes.

Rikkes slept dreamlessly on through the night.

Racheal slept without any problems, waking up earlier than anybody else the next day. She pulled herself up and winced, rubbing her side before standing shakily on her feet and walking over to a window. She looked around outside, people were all asleep and for once she could actually see the streets clearly. She sighed, this city was so beautiful.

Rikkes woke to the sounds of her stirring and getting to her feet. He blinked, rubbing his neck, regretting his decision to sleep in the chair, he was pleasantly surprised to have a blanket on him, and smiled, noting to thank the medic, he glanced at Racheal.

Racheal could hear his body shift but didn't bother to turn around. She grabbed her jacket and smiled slightly, walking out the door silently and walking through the streets. She would return but she wanted to gather her strength back up in her legs and in her lungs before she went to get stuck on bed rest for the day. Besides, it was beautiful in the kingdom.
