Thaddius' wolfy ears pricked up at the sound of an unfamiliar voice. Huh, it was coming from the cage near theirs. "Thaddius." he introduced himself, adjusting his position on the floor of the cage. He tried to keep his handless left arm from Kenya's view. That was the last thing he needed people to see. He let it slide to the floor beside him, unsure if she has seen it already.

Theos s right eye spun to face kanya but, eirdly, his left stayed where it was, he didnt respomd with his name.
Jenny looked up "Jenny" she Said, Her Tails Sweeping across the floor As she adjusted her position slightly, She Gestured across to Theo "And thats my Lil bro Theo"
"Theodore to yoU" shot Theo to Kenya "It's only Theo to friends"
Jenny kicked him "DOn''t be rude!"

Kenya gave a faint grin at Jenny's scolding for a lack of proper manners. She hadn't worried about that in a long time. "Don't worry about it. Theodore," she continued, putting stress on his full name. "Doesn't have to worry about manners in here. Survival is what you need to be concerned about," she added.
Shay's tail twitched in amusement, trying to ignore the actual weight of the flippant words. Survival is what you need to be concerned about... she thought, and exhaled heavily. She wished she could worry about what outfit to wear again.

Kenya hesitated before answering. "I...I'm not sure. You lose track of time after a while...it doesn't seem to matter what day it is or anything. I've probably been in here about a year though," she said slowly, unsure of whether that was true or not. "I'll say this; worst birthday ever." She was pleased that she coudl still lighten the mood somewhat; she hadn't had the excuse to do so for a long time.

Jennys eyes softened "DOn;t you have any family?" she asked "Anyone who'd come looking for you?"
Theo glared when she put emphastis on his name, But it melted to give way to a more thougthful expression.

Kenya shook her head. "My parents died when I was three. The only relative I had was my aunt. I lived with her for a while, but I really took care of myself. I doubt she even regrets the fact I'm gone; she probably threw a party when I disappeared." Her expression turned to one of disgust as she thought of her snobby aunt.
"How did you disappear?" Shay asked, sympathy sending a pang through her.
"I used to run away alot. I would usually leave through my window, and walk around the neighborhood for a while. I always ended up coming back. One night, I was walking through a small forest that grows next to the house. I heard something, and looked up to see one of the scientists standing in front of me. I tried to run, but I felt a prick, and the next thing I knew I was here. In a cage, with wings." Her feathers ruffled to add emphasis. "I've never even gotten the chance to fly before...I don't even know if I can."

"So, Kenya," said Thaddius, casually, "What exactly do they do to us in here?" His eyes fell to his stubbed arm. He held it up for her to see. It didn't matter anyway. "Besides amputate limbs to sell to medical colleges, I mean." there was a bit of a chuckle in his voice, even though he knew in his heart there was nothing to chuckle about.

Thad paused, then slowly turned his questionable, puzzled gaze at Shay. "You're kidding, right?" he asked, but knowing Shay, she would find a way to climb to the moon if she wanted to, so there really was no use arguing. "And how do y-" he froze when the faint whirring of a security camera made his now-wolfy ears twitch. His now-golden eyes flicked side to side, and his now-clawed fingers twitched in a loose fist. "There's cameras in here somewhere..." he breathed, so quietly only his friends could hear with their now-animalistic ears.

Rufus sighed, "Which probably means they could run in here at any minute, after seeing us trying to get out, doesn't it?"
"Yeah, but what if we broke them somehow?" Bailey responded.
"How would that work? We're all in cages!" Rufus spat, as quietly as he could.
"Maybe we could throw something?" Bailey offered.
"Like what?"
"I dunno!"
"Well you should!" Rufus said,trying to finish the argument.

Thaddius tried to find where the security camera was, but the darkness of the room didn't exactly help. Then, a tiny red lazer-light caught his eye in the middle of the ceiling. Why hadn't he noticed it before? He didn't look directly at it, but he watched it out of the corner of his eye. The pattern was simple, it swiveled 90? at a time, all in the same direction. He whispered to the group, including Kenya, "Don't look straight at it, but there's a camera in the middle of the ceiling. It swivels 90? to the right every four seconds. If we can unlock one cage at a time in four seconds each, we can get all of the cages open, get out all at the same time, and stay out of the camera's range before we find a way to pick the lock on the door. What do you think?"

Jenny looked out of the corner of her eye, catching sight of the red light she gave the slightest of nods, letting her hair fall over her face. "Will we be fast enough?" she asked quietly "Four seconds isnt alot of time"
Theo didnt glance at the camera. "It's enough" he said "If we wor out hwo to open the cages four seconds will be plenty, and I thin we can probably get across the room in that time, none of us are exactly slow are we? and I've seen security footage before, If we hide what we're doing slightly Then we get half a second as the camera swings to face us, That should be enough to pull away if we dont manage to get the locks open." he said matter of factly.
Jenny stared at him "How do you know that?"
Theo smirked "I don't, but in my expeirience security camera footage is horibly blurry"

Shay let out a soft whistle, a bit impressed at Theo's comment. "Impressive, Theo. Anyways, if he's right -which he probably is- we can make this work," she said determidly. "After what they did to Thad..." she shook her head silently, aggresion edging her words now. "Well, I'm not staying in here any longer."
