Vetch stayed silent, his face regretful. He didn't mean to hurt her, he just wanted to find a place to keep Nook so no enemies would get him back. As Vetch spotted the shine of the steel-looking trees in the distance, so kept running and accelerated to a sprint.

He impersonates a doctor, but he only messes up anyone who comes in. He partners with a lizard who calls himself Darryl, but his real name is Markis.

Vetch laid down and placed Nook down gently next to him. But when Vetch noticed that Nook didn't sleep up against him, it hurt to know that Nook was really changed. Forever? He hoped not.

Rue laid down beside Vetch, looking over at Nook again. She hoped that this wasn't permanent, she would kill Darryl and the 'Doctor'. SHe gave a small growl as she thought about it, trying to replace her sorrow with rage.

Vetch woke up to the sound of.... nothing. Which was strange. Usually Nook would be playing or in the cereal boxes, eating the breakfast food. Nook. He wasn't the same anymore, and neither Vetch nor Rue knew if he was going to get better.

Rue opened her eyes. As soon as she did, everything came back in a pang of sorrow. Nook. Why had they ever trusted Darryl? Why had they even come here in the first place?

Vetch stood up and said, "Rue, I know this is a bad time to ask, but..." he swallowed the tears, "...Do you think Nook will be okay?" He knew Rue was still angry with him, but he didn't care right about now.
