"Why do you think? I tell you I want a normal life and you try to change me! Ugh, no. I'd rather leave." Derreck got up and began heading for the door.

Josh started to cry and said hurtfully "Then leave and never f*****g come back. I hate you. F**k you."

Derreck put up his hoodie and walked out. He went to the nurse at the front desk and whispered hoarsely, "Tell the guy in room four that my blessings are with him. His name's Josh. Thanks." Derreck walked out and started the car. He didn't even think about how Josh would get home. He started the car and drove to his home, where Josh would no longer be welcome.

*** (Three days later.)

Derreck sighed and went up to his room, where he would serve three weeks of punishment for taking the car and making a mess of the house. He didn't bother to explain what had happened, but he did have to put new doors in and scrub the floors in the house, plus the seats in the car.

He wasn't bothered by that. He lay on his bed now, listening to his iPod, the only thing he was allowed to keep for the next three weeks.

Josh went home, where Derreck would no longer be welcome, and hanged out there for a couple of days.

On one morning, Josh got up and started to think about Derreck. HE ate breakfast and went to his bedroom. Josh laid down on his bed and sighed, thanking about Derreck and what he last said to him, and said "I could go wolf and run away from all of my problems. I wouldn't be the first one who chose that path." He nodded and finally decided to run away from his problems. He morphed to his wolf form and bolted out of his home. He ran to Derreck's house and howled one last time. Josh started to run away, not paying attention on where he was going. He just let his wolf take over from here.

Derreck heard the howl, but didn't do anything but blink. He thought about the wolf but shook his head.

Josh's wolf took him all over the city and came back to Derreck's house after a little while and paced around the house. He finally sat down and howled a howl that was filled with all of his sorrow and grief.

Derreck looked out his window, only to see wolf-Josh. He rolled his eyes and threw a can at the wolf from above. He shut his window and sat back on his bed to listen to his iPod. He pressed on the volume key furiosly, trying to block out Josh's howling.

Josh's howling increased in strength, almost to the point of breaking the windows.

Derreck growled and opened the windows. "Leave Josh! You've already gotten me grounded for a good three weeks. I hope you're happy!"

Josh sighed and yelled "That's the point. I am not happy. I am sorry. Why won't you let me in? I beg you to let me bite you so I don't have to carry this curse by myself anymore. Please, I beg you. As my friend, let me bite you. I don't want to go in there and bite you by force but I will if I have to."

"If you do that you'll live with the guilt of ruin what's left of the friendship we had and my life. Now GO HOME."

"Don't you feel a little guilty when I became a werewolf and you didn't. We were in the same company when I became a werewolf. We were at the superintendent's office. The air was contaminated and I became a werewolf and you didn't, Derreck. How can you be so selfish?"

"I don't feel a single bit guilty because I still have a life ahead of me, and I want it that way. Now, if you don't leave I'm calling animal control." Derreck shut the window and sat on his bed.

Josh used all of his strength and bashed through Derreck's window. He growled at him and said "I warned you, Derreck. You gave me no choice friend." He bit into Derreck's arm with all of his might and transferred the werewolf gene into him.

"You idiot! You ruined my life! Get the f**k out of my house but before you do, get this out of my arm!" Derreck kicked Josh in the face to get him off.
