(I have had many experiences such as dreams)(But I know my spirit guide is a wolf BECAUSE I have been having this dream since I was 6 that instead of standing infront of a pack of wolves, I was one of them)(I had gotten terribly sick at the age of 6 and was in the hostpital for a long time, when I was finally able to go home, I constantly had this same dream ever since. I'm 14 now and that all happened 8 years ago)(For those 8 years I had dreams of running through a forest shrouded in sunlight and warmth, but instead of running on two legs, I was running on fours)(I had sometime decided to look into a calm flowing river in my dream and saw that I was a white wolf with icy blue eyes, and ever since then that has been my obsession)(To this day I still have these dreams, and I dont know why but it always feels good when I do, because I always wake up the next day feeling like what I was in my dream, a wolf of great wisdom and such)(I have taken a test and got the wolf with all the features that make me who I am...Sometimes these experiences scare me, because it's not always peacefull in the dreams...Sometimes I fight, or feel depressed)(I am more connected to my animal spirit guide then anyone can ever think is was people tell me)

M'yeah...it's called "escapism" ( http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/escapism). I suggest you read the definition. And then think on it for a moment or two. lol Sorry, but this whole obsession with "my spirit guide" is more than a little disturbing. And clearly to many people. None of you are aboriginal, primitive peoples who understand the real value and cultural/socio-religious ramifications of what a spirit guide or totem actually was (nor even do I, much less does any human being living in a modern, industrial world). You're just reaching in hopes of being all fuzzy-aboo-ish. I'm not buying it. And I suspect a shaman of an aboriginal culture would find this half-baked interest in spirit guides to be insulting.

Safari the cougar wrote: (Why don't you try saying that to my family heritage, which by the way FYI is a long line of CHEROKEE INDIANS, and I find what you just said rather insulting Jersey!) Safari the cougar wrote: (I dont care if he was meaning to be insulting or not, I still found it rather offensive)(Why didnt you guys keep your unfriendly comments to yourselves if you had nothing nice to say?) Because: a. We have absolutely no way of knowing what your heritage is;
b. The Cherokee nation has (like most, if not all Native American nations, clans and tribes) long since lost most of its ancient and aboriginal practices, either through forced integration by the U.S. government in the past, and/or because subsequent generations of them have not kept the ancient practices alive which, in the modern world, would be quite difficult. And frankly, if one were to go far enough back in time, one might just as easily find primitive and aboriginal practices of this kind even among my Italian, Czech and Hungarian ancestors too. So I could just as easily claim ties to it. But I don't. You know why? I live in the here and now, and as a citizen of a modern, industrialized society. So do you;
c. If you took insult or umbrage to comments left by myself, Tibbeh, MightyBalto1925 or Sakujo (to mention just those who posted on this page), then you have to ask yourself why you are so touchy about people expressing contrary opinions to something. I have said this a thousand times in this forum, and only a certain percentage of people ever seem to get it: in a forum topic, debate, disagreement and even intellectual argument is permitted (even, usually, in Animation Source). It is only when people throw actual flame baits, insults or petty arguments around that there is a problem worth reporting (and, in spite of your overreaction, that as yet has not happened here);
d. Don't play the race card in order to lay a smack down. Either with me or anyone else in here or elsewhere in this forum. It is a stupid, incendiary and highly-offensive tactic. Not a single person in this topic has said anything deprecating against Cherokees or any other Native American peoples. We ARE criticizing modern-day teenagers and young adults, who live in a modern world, for playing at believing they have a spirit guide when, in all likelihood, they have absolutely no real concept of the intricacies of what that means, much less what it meant to the aboriginal cultures around the world.
Now... relax. Because I have no further interest in bandying this back and forth with you. Perhaps the others can pick up where I left off. If you haven't gotten it by now, though, I am quite certain you never will.
