Leara smiled and turned to Xinal. "Hiya!" She said softly. Her legs were weak after the run to find Hayumi's cure. "Can you tell me a bit about what's happening then?" she continued.

Xinal brightened after he heard Hayumi actually address him. He felt as if a heavy burden just lifted from his chest. When she took up her usual spot next to him he felt as if all was finally right with the world. A quick introduction of himself to the newcomer Leara was done for him and all he could do was nod his greeting. Suddenly realizing that he was the addressee of the question he fumbled with his words in an attempt to sort out his mind. His thoughts weren't usually so coordinated and so made him stutter every now and then.

"Well- Um... Let's see. We just recently formed a new pack." He paused for awhile and thought, "the GroundWolves and the WaterWolves were having a dispute over some stolen prey I believe. Or was it teritorry?" He gazed off quizzically, by coincidence it was in Hayumi's direction. Then he shook his head as if realization hit him. "One of the two. So the long story short, the merging of packs was to ensure that there will be no more quarreling of the sort."

Hayumi smiled as she felt Xinal's pelt rub against hers, it felt right.Her legsseemed at ease and she didn't feel like she had to gasp for air anymore, sh ehad relized being friends with him was all she deserved and all she could get.

Leara smiled. She got up slowly and shook her fur. The sun made the mark on her side shine in the Sunlight. "Thanks" she said then. She let out a little growl as she yawned. She was quite tired after the long day. "I'll just go and get used to my new surroundings" she said through sighs. She walked off, her head low and her tail swishing.

Daiku, this whole time, had been flyig around the packlands and scouting around. Eventually he went back to the den where he had a not so graceful landing, dust whipped up from around he landed. He sighed, it felt good t rest after flying for hours at a time, but he gave a sudden gulp when he noticed Freya's annoyed look. "Oh, hi Freya, did I miss anything while I was gone?"

He dipped his head in acknowledgment of Leara's message. Xinal sat there enjoying Hayumi's company. At the very least he still had his friend. However in the back of his mind something was gnawing at his sanity.

Freya whipped around to glare at Daiku. "You missed me searching for you the entirety of your absence!" She looked at him quizzically. "Is this what you do everyday?" She glanced around at the rest of the wolves. "I'm surprised the Waterwolves are still in one piece." she jested.

"Well. We have two newbloods. Leara and Hayumi. Freshkill has been stocked up on and camp perimeter has been patrolled secured." She reported matter-of-factly, albeit with a grin on her maw.


Slowly but surely the sun starts to dip into the horizon, pulling along the cold gusts of wind at nightfall.

Leara looked back to face the setting sun, the wind blowing her fur in her face. She turned her head and started walking again. She looked around at the dark grass that surrounded her endlessly and the trees behind and before her. Before her she saw a bird, tired after the day, sitting on the branches of the tree which arched in the wind. She felt at home once again after a long time of wandering lost in the dense forests, and turned back to the others. There she saw Daiku and Freya talking. She walked up and smiled to them.

occ: Eclipse> Not really, no.

Daiku gave her a soft growl, understanding why she was mad, but upset she exploded on him like that. "you know what?" he said getting right up in her face, "with our packs still shattered in pieces and because our ranks are still screwy, I have been doing ALL the jobs that we have yet to fill. So while you were aimlessly looking for me I was making sure everyone stays in one piece and that ALL duties are performed properly." he had a slightly mean look. "I'm currently covering the jobs of 22 wolves as of now, so you wanna get angry with me? fine! Don't blame me when the pack turns on itself for food and survival!" he wasn't screaming at her, but he had raised his voice. He then walked past her partly, but then stopped, sighing.

"look Freya, i'm sorry I raised my voice like that... it's been a hard day for me." he said and gave her a nuzzle, "goodnight..." He then went off to bed.

Freya immediately fell silent at his response. She hadn't meant to sounded extremely angry, however apparently it came out the wrong way. Before she herself could apologize, Daiku had already started to walk away. Her ears drooped and her tail dropped in disappointment. "I probably need to clear my head as well."

She turned to look over the pack once more to check on things when she noticed Leara standing only a few paces away. "Hi there." She greeted calmly. She didn't want to be an alpha for the time being and let her professionalism slide and rest. It was probably getting to winded up already. "Are you able to fit in somewhat? Some Groundwolves have this relatively hard-headed nature at times like the rock that some of them control. Have you had any troubles?"

Hayumi spread her wings a little, a feather landing on Xinal's head lightly."Ha, sorry about that." Her voice was sweet like honey suckle nectar and her eyes calm.But soon she heard Freya's voice and her heart tightened a little bit."So, you and Freya huh?I saw how you looked at her." She said it calmly, trying not to expose her feeling anymore.

Leara didn't say anything. She was a bit startled after the argument. She pressed her ears against her head and watched the others. She looked up at the sky and sighed. "If you don't mind I think I'll lay down a bit and rest. She walked over to a nearby tree for shade and lay down, closing her tired eyes.

Freya just watched Leara excuse herself and went off to rest for the night. She sighed at herself. "This alpha business isn't very pretty." Turning around, she walked off by herself. She made her way to a patch of ground that was relatively far from the rest of the pack. The moon has already started to rise in the sky. It was still early on in the evening. Freya looked down at the earth beneath her paws and watched as she formed a miniature version of two wolves. One looked exactly like her. The other... was practically a blank slate, a wolf with no distinguishing features.

She lifted her head to a slow gracious howl. She couldn't help but howl out now despite the moon barely being low in the sky.

Xinal perked his ears as he heard Hayumi's question. "Freya?..." He looked at her and realized what she might be talking about. He flattened his ears against his head. "It's not that-" Xinal cut himself off before he continued. "I have to be frank. I did have something for Freya..." He looked up at the sky. "I can't deny that." The feeling of burning rocks scorched his throat as he wondered on how Hayumi was reacting to it. "It's just-" He paused at a last for words, "...just..." he closed his eyes.

He let a spark appear in the distance. It was the only way that he could calm himself down. When the spark appeared... a voice? no a thought... ran through his mind.
But tomorrow all will change. You will lead it.
He shook his head at the absurdity of the thought. He got back to the matter at paw. He closed his eyes.

"I'm sorry. If I hurt you in any way a truly am."

Even though Leara was half asleep she heard Freya's howl. She swished her tail and head and snapped at the air. She always wriggled when she slept. Suddenly her eyes opened wide and she stopped snapping. It was the howl that had made her twist and turn. She calmed down and lay her head down again and sighed as she fell asleep again.

Hayumi nodded and rested her head on her paws and sighed "This is how I break apart, when I finnaly hit the ground." Her voice was tense "This is how it hurts, when I act like I don't feel any pain." Her eyes closed, her soft ear resting on the male's side as she drifted off to sleep.

Xinal could only gaze at Hayumi as she dozed off. He knew something still was there that kept their friendship from being completely sounds and so he kept thinking. Could life be any better? Is it possible to reform the life we know today to eradicate pain and suffering?

A bold thought crossed his mind as if with a personality all its own: Yes... Someone just needs to lead it.
