Jamie woke up frantically and said, " Mike! What is wrong!?" She asked nuzzling him.

Mike quickly pulled himself together, though his site still ached violently. He didn't want to panick Jamie over the dream he had just had, so he halfway lied.
"Oh...Sorry Jamie. Must've slept in a bad position or something. The place where the man shot me is hurting again. It startled me is all."
Mike stood up, cringing a bit, then he smiled.
"The man must not want us to forget him I guess," He laughed.

Jamie smiled back and knew that he wasn't in a un-comfortable position, "Mike, was it just a bad dream? That's all you have to tell me if it was."

Mike nodded slowely, rubbing at his still aching side.
"Yes. It showed all the bad things that had happened over the past several days."
He sniffed.
"Aw jeeze, I try to act all tough, but I can't get over this."
He paused again.
"Seriously though, my side is really hurting again. Can you have a look at it please?"

Jamie looked at it and said, " It's swelling bad." She said worried. She went off to get some of the leaves and she got them. She brought them back and she put them on his side and less then a minute he was healed, " There, how do you feel now?" She asked licking his side.

Mike smiled.
"I feel better. Thank you."
Mike took two steps, looking toward the direction they would be traveling. Below the hill they spent the night on the first rays of sunlight flooded over a beautiful valley. There was a grassy clearing with a small stream flowing through it. Beyond there was a rock face of a mountain. A cave large enough to comfortably fit 6 full grown wolfs was inset into the stone.
Mike gasped. "Jamie, look at this! Isn't it absolutely beautiful? Maybe we should just stay here. Make this our territory."

Jamie gasped, " Yeah! It's just beautiful. Yes. I would love to make this our new territory. We can dig dens for a nice pack. Make it like a neighborhood." She smiled. She nuzzled him.

Mike jumped with Joy.
"Come on! Lets go down there and check it out!"
He started towards the valley, running with a slight limp towards their new home.

Jamie went up to Mike and sniffed the air, "It smells like, caribou." She said with a weird tone in her voice.

Mike cautiously came to where Jamie was. Sure enough, there was a man on the back porch of a small cottage grilling something. The man looked like he was in his mid 70's, with greying hair and glasses. This man wasn't like the man with the gun, however. He seemed peaseful, at one with nature. Mike didn't feel threatened by him.
Mike was new to the ways of humans.
"Why is he burning a leg of caribou?" He asked.
