Anayu observed the lizard and the wolf as they went where they went. She left her bag by Akari before she climbed back up in the tree and prepared to fall asleep there. She looked down at him, though - again watching his features, and again doing so unconsciously. She then looked at the lizard, wondering what was up with him. Her thoughts were soon dissuaded by the blanket of sleep, however, as she closed her eyes.
But sleep was something she would get little of now; something didn't feel right, and she woke several times that night. Something was disturbing the earth and she felt it. Weakly, but it was still there. Also from Desdon. She wondered what would await her there.

(So I have missed a truckload of plot, I apologize as usual. I will update myself by reading through it all and post today, I swear, or please feel totally free and justified to boot me from the RP. I've been a cruddy teammate. Sorry about my hectic schedule. I guess we'll assume Cyrus was contemplating life's mysteries this whole time lol Or was in a temporary coma oO)

It had been an hour since Cyrus had snuck away from the group. He had whispered to Rusty that he was going outward to get a bird's-eye view of Desdon, but had otherwise stayed quiet about his departure. After some time brushing through the forest and treading up a large, gradual hill, he came to an elevated rock outcropping poking above the trees.
Out of breath from his excursion, he sat with his legs hanging over the edge of the cliff-like formation. Free from the cover of the tall pines, he was now one with the air and starlit sky above the forest. In the serene night silence, save for the sound of his own breathing, Cyrus allowed himself to be comfortable.
Gazing out beyond the forest edge and the rolling fields that followed, he examined the twinkling Desdon in the distance. Bustling cities always looked so innocent and beautiful from afar at night. However, Cyrus knew of Desdon's particularly hostile atmosphere. Through his intrigued studies of human culture and relations with anthros, he read that Desdon was a hub for racial tension and a dormant volcano of constant potential conflict. This was partly due to the many undercover ASRH stations in the city. -Desdon is a known headquarters for some of the ASRH's most "influential" branches. Not the safest place for an anthro to live, at least not with much peace of mind.
And yet, Cyrus wanted nothing more but to see it for himself. His father hadn't let him walk through a human city once, but Cyrus's fascination with humans had only grown as a result of this sheltering. There were much better places than Desdon to explore, but for now, nothing seemed more exciting than finally stepping foot in a human city.
He was only disappointed that he and the group hadn't caught the muggers yet. There was a good hope though. -The combined magical skills of the anthros might allow them to find the hiding thieves.
Speaking of the group... Cyrus scanned the treetops for any signs of them. Eventually he spotted the large figure of Sissmuth sitting under a tree, and under... what?! There was another anthro above him lying on a tree branch. Cyrus couldn't tell who or what it was, though the being looked different from the others he was travelling with.
With a sigh he rose to a stand atop the rocks. "Time to go back..." It seemed everyone else was sleeping. Either way he figured it was a good idea to return and meet this new aquaintance.
He wondered if anyone even noticed he was gone...
...
As he came up upon the group Cyrus tripped over a large fallen branch. He managed to balance himself and prevent falling, but the loud "clunk!" of the wood roused some of the anthros.
"Sorry! Didn't see it there." said Cyrus with an embarrased wave as he made his way to the tree where Sissmuth sat.

Rusty hardly moved after sitting down on the grass just outside the fait moonshade of the tree everyone else was near. It was the first real chance he had to feel and contemplate some long term effects of the night’s events.
His gaze was held tight on his palm that glowed dim orange from a small ball of flame that danced to the light breeze. Though it freely danced on the stage, its light was a very sickly hue; the hole Rusty had that use to hold a well of magic close to his body was affecting the brilliance of his fire. A bright flame was what mirrored Rusty’s personality. It was what made him Rusty, and this pathetic flame was almost an insult.
A result of what they did, that tiny flame.
How dare they.
He doubted that the void had tampered with this magic’s potency like it had with its brilliance. This was good, for every measurable unit of magic Rusty still held was meant for whoever has his necklace.
The flame danced faster and intensified, ready to burn a hole through everything in its way. Its size stayed the same; it was so tiny but mad, as if Jack and turned on the giant instead of running away.
Suddenly, POOF, it vanished into the wind at the crack of a stick. Rusty shot his head over to the right with intense eyes, but like the will of the flame to dance, they soften very quickly when he saw Cyrus walking up onto the group. He threw him a slime and a small wave in greeting. When Cyrus settled in under the tree, Rusty faced forward and fell onto his back, letting his arm fall outstretched. A second later, he shifted to his side and curled up a bit and waited until his eyelids fell closed.

(Gonna be on and off for the next two weeks. Going on a huge long trip, being on the road most of the time. I'll be able to access the internet through my Dad's computer and his satellite internet modem most of the time, and some of the time from my computer if we happen upon a Wi-Fi hotspot, but not all the time. Check out my dA page if you want updates on the trip. I should be able to upload pictures, as well.)
Akari sat next to the tree and pondered to himself as to what's been happening today. The gravity of the situation hadn't hit him until now, now that he had taken the time to think about it without having to act at the same time. He had gone through his own trials celebration, been kissed by Rusty's drunken date, seen the aftermath of his best friend being mugged and robbed of his beloved arrowhead necklace, ran through a throng of distracted militiamen, been tazed in the chest, heard a shootout, saw a dead body for the first time, helped out a wounded member of the Asper militia, saw more evidence of another shootout with the militia, ran for two hours, and met Anayu, all in one night. The sheer thought of all that happening in less than twelve hours made his head dizzy, yet he somehow managed to do all that...
Akari put a hand to his head to ease the dizzy feeling. His head slowly looked in the direction of the bag that Anayu left beside him. He was tempted to look into the bag, but he decided it might be better to wait until morning.
His eyes then darted to Rusty, who was silently observing a ball of flame that he had hovering above his palm. Like Rusty, Akari noticed that the flame was much unlike the flames Akari normally saw him produce. Perhaps, Akari reasoned, the lack of a constant surplus of pyro-energy that was provided by Rusty's charged arrowhead necklace, diminished the bright color that it normally had. Of course, it was purely speculation on his part, but that's what it seemed to be. He was sure that Rusty did have plenty of magical energy to get through a tough situation in his own body, but certainly not as much as he would normally have with the stone added to him. He empathized with him, to an extent. He had once forgotten to wear his ring to a training session with Jollanel. He wasn't punished by Jollanel, but he certainly did not feel up to snuff that day in terms of his magical capabilities. Using his "Breeze" and "Air Pressure" abilities just didn't give him the same rush of feeling that he normally would get with the ring on, and "Matchlight" just felt like it took more energy out of him than ever. Basically, it felt like he had eaten a really greasy, unhealthy fast-food meal before a strenuous sports practice.
I guess it works differently for every anthro... he thought. Suddenly, a cracking noise, and Akari's head snapped in the direction of the sound right after his ears pinpointed the direction. It was only Cyrus tripping over a branch, and Akari sighed a breath of relief. I really am uptight... this is why I should sleep, he thought to himself, getting really tired.
However, an important thought (to him, at least) occurred to him. Remembering the event at Halloor's bar, he recalled that he never got to explain to Rusty that he didn't willingly take part in the event. Akari moved himself over to Rusty's position, who, by that time, had curled up to try to sleep.
"Hey... Rusty," he whispered, "this won't take long... I just wanted to tell you something..." Akari paused, thought a bit on how to word what he wanted to say, then continued, "Listen... about what happened at the bar back in Asper, with the whole make-out thing... I wasn't willingly taking part in that. I was... taken by as much surprise as you were, you know? ... Um... yeah... I just wanted to let you know that."
Akari paused, then continued, "I'll let you get back to sleep. I need to sleep myself."
With that, Akari began to head back to his own spot to lay down and sleep.
(OOC: Sorry about bringing that up, if that bothers anyone... I just thought it needed to be said, that's all. Then we can forget that ever happened, OK? ^^ )

(( I suppose I'll cut to the morning! ))
Anayu's ears also pinpointed the sound of a cracking noise, but she didn't hear any other in the group reacts particularly to it so she chose to ignore it. She was half-asleep, but her senses were still taking in as much information as possible. She heard a few parts of what Akari had said to the fox and opened an eye to look down at them. Truly, they were good friends. She was, however, intrigued, but decided to not dwell on it. It was none of her business.
She fell asleep.
-------------------------
Morning came and the sun was barely showing itself in the horizon. Anayu opened her eyes and yawned silently. After a quick overview of the group she had met during the night, she came to the conclusion that they were still asleep. She never bothered to check, though. She slid down from the tree - although not as silently as she'd hoped - landing semi-elegantly on the ground. She then walked a few meters away from the group before she sat down, laying her staff across her lap and folding her hands. She closed her eyes and began focusing.
There was one thing she could do without having to be moving any body part and that was to sense the earth. And something did seem very amiss somewhere now. She couldn't pinpoint the location, but the earth itself felt like it was in turmoil somewhere. Whatever it was, it made her feel ill.
Wrinkling her forehead in concentration, she continued to sense; searching for the source of this feeling.

[Just as a group reminder, the party still has one FULL day of walking before they get to Desdon. As it is now close to dawn, it is on this day that the final events outlined in DOACC are now taking place. It is also on this day that Oden makes his entrance, so all viable players, please be ready to post accordingly.]
Sissmuth started out with his head hanging over his chest, leaning humbly against his staff impaled into the ground; this morning, he'd somehow ended up flat on his back, sprawled across the grass in some awkward position, about five yards away from his stuck staff. He snore noisily for a lizard, but had he not consumed the amount of liquor he did the night before, his slumber would've been a little more fit. He cracked his bloodshot eyes a peek, slitted eyes contacting instantly to the small light of dawn, then quickly snapped them shut again and resumed to snoring. When his tongue peeped out of his snout, it hung there, and for a couple minutes, Sissmuth slept with his mouth slightly ajar up at the sky before snapping that shut as well and turning over, his soft and yet firm belly pressed against the cool grass. "Hem, hem... one more shot, if you please. No, no, all the way to the top this time. Hurrrrrgg..."

Anayu, albeit deep in her concentration, heard the lizard's words and they brought her out of her "trance". She glanced toward him for a few seconds before rising up, helping herself with the staff, heading toward him. She thought him to be quite the pathetic sight right now, although she wouldn't say anything. Once up close, she went down on both knees in front of him, eyeing him closely. The lizard had mentioned shots; had he been drinking the other day? She thought there was something about him then, but now she realized that it was probably only a hangover. In any case, it was time to wake the group.
She rose up again and headed toward her supply bag, which was still left by Akari. She picked it up and opened it, placing it a little away again.
What was the best way to wake them? She pondered for a moment. She could startle them and get a laugh. She could also whack them on their heads with her staff. Or she could shake them gently and wake them.
Instead, she compromised and took her staff, poking the closest person - Sissmuth - on his back with it. Two times; one not that hard and the other more determined. "Wake up, sleepy. We have a long walk ahead of us!" she said to him, before she proceeded to give the rest of the group the same treatment, only now she was yelling "Wake up, sleepyheads! We got little time for breakfast and we have a long walk ahead of us!"
When she was done, she sat down by her bag and began rummaging through it. She found some old bread packed in plastic, two-three flasks of water, some fruit she picked two days ago (mostly apples), a package of sausages (it was obviously stolen, probably from a travelling merchant; it was unopened and still hadn't been stamped) and some cold slices of salty pork, neatly packed in plastic as well. "Hmm... looks like I need to re-supply when we enter Desdon." she said as she also found an old, rugged blanket which she unfolded in front of her. Anayu put the items there and chose to make an apple part of her breakfast, as well as a piece of bread she broke off.

(I'm going camping for a week so neither I nor my brother will be able to post during that time.)
Cyrus was already awake before he was poked with the stick, but had decided he didn't want to move a muscle until he had to. When the stranger tapped him he raised his hand to silently communicate the lack of necessity to be prodded again, but otherwise didn't budge. He had not slept too well due to Sissmuth's snoring and the disturbing sense he was getting from the air. Something still wasn't right, and he observed that he was not the only one who felt so.
Before the stranger had stood to rouse the group, Cyrus saw her in a semi-meditative state, apparantly connecting with the earth. Through his studies Cyrus had come to recognize magic in its many uses and forms, and had seen geokinetics follow this practice before.-He had also noticed Sissmuth doing the same last night, so was left with no doubt as to his suspicion of the stranger's talents.
Whether through the earth or the air, Cyrus knew both he and the stranger sensed the same disturbance.
Finally he gathered the willpower to rise, brushing off his now dusty white robe. Well, he liked to call it a robe, though it was more of a cloth, capelike, open trenchcoat over a green shirt and black pants. He stood up and walked toward where the group's new member was actively preparing breakfast for the whole party.
Cyrus shook his head and laughed. "I've never understood you early risers, how you can deprive yourself of sleep with such enthusiasm!" he said to her as he approached with a smile. "We haven't yet met, I'm Cyrus." he said as he leaned over the supplies in an exaggerated fashion to extend his hand.

Still lying flat on his belly, eyes closed, Sissmuth flicked his tongue. He smelled breakfast, but was too lazy to get up; instead, he muttered something foul in Dragonese and threw himself over again with a wide, gaping yawn. hE quickly checked the ground for any unusual pulses; he'd felt slight tremors, but didn't think too much about them. He could't fall back asleep, but instead drifted off to the state before sleep, where the mind is still conscious, but the body too exhausted [or lazy] to do anything. The corners of his mouth twitched and he began to salivate slightly as he listened in on Cyrus and the stranger's conversation.

Anayu eyed Cyrus for a moment. "Heh. I suppose it's in my genes." she commented as she shook his hand. "Name's Anayu." She quickly glanced toward Sissmuth. "Do you know that lizard, Cyrus?" she asked. "He seems very... different from other anthros I have seen. Somewhat more..." She stopped, watching the seemingly sleeping lizard for a moment. "Well.... tranquil."

It was difficult to keep his ears from twitching at the soft words that came from Akari that would have broken the illusion of Rusty sleeping. He listened tentatively to what his wolf friend had to say.
The incident at Hallor’s Bar. Something Rusty had already shaken off of his mind. It wasn’t like Dakota had been a long term relationship in any way. It was only a spur of the moment date created that morning. What Dakota did didn’t hit Rusty emotionally. It just made him disprove her for moral reasons. He never had doubts on Akari, who Dakota suddenly kissed instead of and in front of her supposed date.
As soon as the sound of foot steps vanished, Rusty rolled onto his other shoulder to see Akari settling in under the tree with the others. A smile grew out of the corners of Rusty’s lips and he rolled back to sleep. We would seal Akari’s holes tomorrow.
---------------------
By morning, Rusty was fast asleep in a tight ball-like shape; arms and legs tucked close to his chest and his tail wrapped over his hip and laid over his limbs. Certainly nothing would dare to disturb a peaceful being in these trouble times.
*poke* Wrong!
Rusty twitched and raised a hand to his shoulder to shoo off whatever was messing with him and he went back to his original position.
Yet, the probe persisted. This time it hit a spot in between his ribs and caused him to reflex with a yelp. He sat up and rubbed his eyes, still not fully awake, to see Anayu walking away and sit down with her bag. He got up and followed but stopped at the foot of where Akari was sleeping. It was obvious Anayu’s probing has no effect on the sleeping wolf.
What a setup! Now, what to pull?

(( New character sheet I've been working on. Introducing the newest addition to the world of Ekleron; Role-player’s Name: Lux, The JanitorGeneral InformationName: Villyr C. Langston Nickname: “Tinkerbell” Race: Human Species: Homo Sapiens Age: 32 Gender: Female Dominant Side: Ambidextrous (trained) Description: Villyr isn't particularly tall; about 5ft67 in height. She isn't particularly muscular either; wearing her outfit which is made out of a light, yet very powerful metal doesn't exactly develop many of them. Her hair is red and her eyes are somewhat dark in colour, maybe a deeper shade of brown. Personality: Patient and examining, this engineer has specialized in assessing situations and act accordingly. She is rarely the one you'd find in the middle of a battle; she'd rather stay a bit to the side, hurriedly building contraptions and other things out of the equipment she has available to help her allies. That does not mean that she's a fierce – and merciless fighter, though... when necessary. But she is kind by nature, although she prefers to hide it (she refers to it as a “weakness she can live without”) behind a facade of sarcasm, bemusement, her gadgets, snappy remarks and wit. When she fights, she uses her fists and her variety of gizmos, grenades, her tranquillizer, etc. She often combines the use of fist-fighting and grenades as well. For instance, a very common tactic for her is to throw a sticky grenade when she is in close-range, gain some distance and then toss an explosive grenade. History: Villyr C. Langston lived her entire life in Desdon, from birth to present time. She began developing an interesting in mechanics and technology around her 7's, after which it only escalated into an obsession. She began developing radical new items for herself such as her poison grenades (which, when she was 12, were unheard of before). As she became 17, a man called Bruni had found interest in her talent, so he contacted her the year later and offered her a place to work in. It was in a store called “Antiques Sales and Retail Homestore”, and they were in need of someone with her talent to keep the machinery working. He explained to her that in the basement of the store, they were building a modern storage facility. Villyr happily accepted. In any case, she designed the cellar underneath the store – which had several floors – and surveyed the building of it, which would take nine years to complete. Some time after its completion, she was casually strolling through the new metal walls as she overheard two employees speak. “You know, Bruni does have a point. Those half-animals; they scare me. Their magic is dangerous too – proven time and time again.” one said. The other one, a woman, agreed. “Yes, I know. I once caught this anthro cub practicing earth magic behind my house the other day. She resembled a fox, but not entirely. I looked it up and later found that she was a Dhole. In any case, I yelled at her and then called the guards. But by the time they arrived, she had already fled.” she said. Villyr listened closely to this. “Yeah. Bruni has made an organization to protect us from the anthro threat. I'm going to join.” the other one said. “I think I will too.” Villyr pondered this; she had also seen the anthros and their magic. It also scared her that they had so much power. She ended up joining the ASRH and becoming one of their top engineers. On order of Bruni, she redid the entire cellar into a high-technology headquarters for the ASRH. In one of the wings, she designed a facility that allowed them to grow plants and food, using specialized sun-lamps and nutrients bought from stores around Ekleron which were transported to them through underground tunnels. She also created a water recycling system, and this made them almost self-supplied, meaning that none would catch on to what was going on under the antiques store. For surely, buying tons of supplies for the workers that lived under it when the store was so little in comparison would seem suspicious. She also designed the containment contraptions which captured anthros would be held in at a later point. Nine more years passed and Villyr was taking a stroll through the city. She noticed the dolphin anthro and his friend being pushed aside by one of the ASRH propaganda-boys, chased by guards. She saw how the wolverine anthro stopped him. She had just prepared a grenade for the dolphin, but when she saw him move closer toward the guards – which were both human – she put it back in a pocket. Days passed before the fateful turn of events below the store would take place. Villyr was monitoring the security cameras and computer systems in the underground facility when the alarm went off in the largest room; the anthro extraction wing. She looked at the screen linked to the surveillance camera and watched as a door was blasted open by a giant, fiery phoenix. Two anthros entered the room, but she also noticed that there were two other anthros there before them; a dolphin and a wolverine. And Bruni! She immediately began initiating the defense systems, but they didn't go off. In the system monitor, she could see that someone was hacking them, shutting down all defense mechanisms. The hacker had opened a chatwindow too, and it called itself “Anthro4U”. Villyr cursed loudly as she tried to toss him out of their systems, allthewhile ignoring the hacker's mocking in the chatwindow. She didn't get that far. Loud explosions were heard through the facility and she looked at the surveillance monitor again; everything had begun falling apart. Alarms went off everywhere in the building and water had begun to escape its wing, flooding the facility. “***** it!” she cursed, turning around, scurrying toward the emergency exit in the room. She knew she couldn't save anyone in the facility but herself now. And so she did. She was lucky that she made it out; the whole store had begun collapsing with the ground below it. The only important thing to do now, however, was to escape the city. Villyr made sure that she had all her equipment with her and nicked a car. She quickly made her way to the other side of the city, but there was a police blockade stopping her from driving out. Cursing, she stopped the car and left it, hurrying to another part of the wall. A grenade later, she found herself running through the forest toward Asper. Clothing: Villyr wears a rather peculiar outfit, even for a human. Atop her head (which has red hair) she carries a set of round protection glasses and she wears a semi-green, reddish suit with who-knows how many, rather bags attached to it. The suit itself seems to be full-body, with parts of it looking much like it is armoured – which it is. One can see hints of metal underneath the deceiving exterior, which does give off cloth or leather as a first impression. To her shoulders, she has a pair of shoulderplates attached to her, and she also wears strange gloves which could resemble something mechanical; they are made out of metal, but they are still very flexible, allowing her almost the same level of finger-dexterity as she would have without them. Right underneath the shoulderplates one can find the straps belonging to her cloak (which is also full of all kinds of pockets). There is also a gun-like device in a holster attached to her plated greaves. Those who knew her would recognize it as a tranquillizer. (To get an idea of how she looks, I've included the sprite design she will have in the game: ) Equipment:- Tranquillizer - Flash Grenades - Poison Grenades - Explosive Grenades - Smoke Grenades - Items that can be quickly assembled as small, mechanical devices and contraptions. - Protection glasses, heat-sensitive - Light, but powerful armour covered with a cloth/leather layer (which also has quite a few smaller bags sewn onto them. - Flame Grenades (this grenade can be set to explode mid-air and fling fire forward, of explode when it hits something, sending fire in a pillar both up and down) - Sticky Grenades (have a guess) - Incapacitating Grenade (when it explodes, it emits a high-pitched sound as it is destroyed, mostly targeted toward anthros) - Shock Grenade (after activated, it takes 3 seconds to go off. It releases an electric impulse meant to cause temporary paralysis) ))

Sissmuth was glad Jollanel wasn't around, which meant he could curse all he wanted in Dragonese and no one would ever know. As the last traces of what Sissmuth had known to be the biggest hangover he had in a long while began to subside, he muttered out another string of vulgarities in an indiscernible murmur and slowly began shifting awake. "Sssigieth sasshaan ivission... ssakaar fierisss ikaassion." [Something to rudely express how the word "tranquil" was the LAST word he felt befitted the current situation.]
It wasn't that Sissmuth was a bad anthro... he just wasn't the morning-type. And when combined with the effects of liquor and the events of last night, well, it didn't matter how this new day started, the lizard was bound to be in a grumpy mood. He sat up and threw a quick glare at Cyrus and this Anayu character and Rusty, who was in the process of sneaking up on a still-sleeping Akari. He rubbed his eyes and yawned again, but no matter how much he prepped himself, he still looked like a mess. Sissmuth didn't feel particularly clean either... his cloak was now grass-stained, he felt dirt grind in between his scales, and he suddenly felt abashed at his bare feet; walking all day yesterday, there was a good deal of grime in between his toes and his claws hadn't been clipped since long before even when he left Valter.
Bad, bad, bad... the poor lizard's spirits sank lower as he lumbered up to retrieve his staff, wishing nothing more at the moment for a nice bath. If he were lucky, perhaps the group would stop at the nearby River Astran, and there he could freshen up a little. Maybe not. Without a word and with s solemn look on his face, Sissmuth shuffled over to where Cyrus and Anayu were sitting and propped himself against the tree. He flicked his tongue at them, then grunted as he buried his hands deep into his cloak as the two topazes suddenly began to glow again, only this time, at Anayu.

Anayu was digging in on her own breakfast, stealing the occasional glance at Akari, who was still sleeping peacefully. She hadn't had the heart to poke him as hard as she did on the others, but she also noticed Rusty - like the fox he was - sneaking up on the sleeping wolf, probably up to mischief and no-good. She couldn't help but chuckle inside of herself; in many ways, she could easily picture herself doing the same thing, sneaking up on people just for the kicks.
Something stole her attention, though. Slight shudders in the ground - as if something collapsed again. This time, however, it was much closer - as if though it was a tunnel far below them collapsing because of something. She didn't say anything though, but she had stopped eating and just sat still, focusing on sensing the earth again. Another shiver. A smaller one nonetheless, coming from Desdon.
Anayu knew very well that they were still a day's march away from the city, but she had an impending feeling they should hurry. But she had to lead them on her alternate route; going straight from there seemed like a bad idea somehow. She also knew that because of the distance, she could easily be sensing things closer to them instead; maybe just natural cave-ins. Sure, she knew that her energy was strong enough to sense things across longer distances. But all the way to Desdon from their location? Unlikely, but still...
She looked up at the group. "Can you people please hurry and eat your breakfast? We need to get moving. Ten minutes. Slackers will be left behind!" she called out. She then proceeded to hastily devour her part.
