Aniu nodded. "That fox was your mother, she was your spirit guide." she said. "Though if you remember, she was sly, mostly to protect you." she said. "The fox spirit form endows you with great knowlege of cunning and trickery, which can be useful in protecting your daughter from harm." she said. "You cannot use your real name in spirit guide form however, remember that so think up a diffrent name for yourself in that form." she said. She turned into a fox and and put her paw on Athina's head. The fox form turned into a blue silohate and went into Athina, turning Aniu back in the process. "There. May I suggest scratching on the door here and asking for help from the dogs to gain entrence and allow your fox self to befriend your daughter?"

Athina nodded. She flicked her tail, it felt free and the breeze ruffled her fur. She jumped down to the side of the boat and scratched the side of the door. She tried to whimper any way possible.
"Did you hear that?" Nica asked as she heard athina scratch the door.

Balto peeked out. "Its a fox." he said. "She looks scared...with those rabid dog's out there they'd tear a fox to pieces." he said worriedly. He looked the fox over for bite marks and saw none. He opened the hole big enough for her to squeeze in. "If you want in, hurry up, there is a rabid dog on the loose." he said.
"Don't be overzealious about getting close to Nica or they might think you're up to something." said Aniu to Athina, she was the only one that could see or hear her.

Balto peeked out and saw Steele's father heading towards Steele's house. He let out four short fast barks loud enough for Steele to hear, remembering his deal with Steele. This was a danger code for dogs. He pulled back in and closed the hole. He looked at Athina. "No problem." he said. "So what's your name? I'm Balto."

"Good idea." said Balto. "You can stay as long as you want, the more friend the merrier." he said. "That's Flash, and this is Jenna."
Steele's father staggered about, almost like a drunk, foaming at the mouth. He didn't reconize Steele but began staggering towards him, completely rabid now.

Balto smiled. "New friends are always welcome, doesn't matter to me who they are." he said. Balto didn't realize his own mother was behind him, watching over him because he couldn't see her. Aniu winked to Cura.
Steele's father leapt at Steele but another dog pushed Steele out of the way and was bit in the back. It was Ricky. "Steele, your dad isn't in their anymore, get out of here, I'll hold him off. I know you've got a good future ahead of you and I don't want you to die. I'm proud of you." he said and fought with Steele's father.

A human came up and shot Steele's father, killing him. Ricky staggered and fell to the ground, heavily wounded. He looked at Steele and smiled. "Kid, don't look." he said as a human reloaded his gun to aim at Ricky. "Its better I die now than suffer and hurt the ones I love from rabies." he said.
Nikkie didn't know what he should do, Steele was upset, this was rare. "Come on boss, come inside...I guess Balto kept his word after all huh?"

Ricky wasn't killed instently. "S-steele, n-no m-matter w-what y-you think, I l-love y-you l-like my s-son." he stuttered, blood coming from his mouth. He fell dead next to Steele's father.
"Another dog must of been bitten." said Balto. "They're probably looking for more dogs that may of been bitten." he said. "Rabies is terrible, no matter what you do, you can't fight it and you attack anyone you see, no matter how much you loved them." he said. "Glad we're all safe."
