I will definetly sign for this petition. A special edition would be something all Balto fans (such as myself) would enjoy. This is one of the better films in animation if you ask for my opinion. If there is a special edition, it should have improved graphics, the making of it, and a commentary with the voice actors. Any of those whose heart belongs with Balto will certainly agree with what i said.

We currently have 1,077 signatures for those interested, and we really need more.

We need A LOT more :( So sad how I was excited for one before Christmas. Now I really hope they make one this year like GEEEZ they have great films in their hands why aren't they doing ANYTHING about it? I'm not only looking at it from a business perspective but if that's what drives them to make one, then they should! They know better than that :( Are they too busy with other films or something?

I don't know..the animation from the original was pretty much more than alright if you ask me - in fact it fits with today's standards in movie animation in films like Balto :) Otherwise like said, a digital clean up to match and original colours and mastered in high-definition would be enough to satisfy me :) Besides I kinda doubt Universal would want to go back in the studio or something and do that..

They wouldn't do anything with it unless it promised to make some money. That's the mindset.

I don't see how they wouldn't be able to make money by releasing a special edition dvd. It's not as if it was costing as much as producing and releasing a new film.
No, it's more a "policy" problem, they think animated films are for children and that children don't care much about special edition dvds.
(even though this lame excuse is not enough, because releasing it again would make the film available to a greater public, so it would make them profits anyway...)

Well there would have to be money put on remastering the film (and it does cost a lot) though it isn't as much in making a new film. My gosh I still can't believe up until today, they are doing NOTHING about this. Even the American Tale - that movie definitely deserves a master piece and HECK even The Land Before Time. Instead they get repackaged together....aiye...not even wide screen...

Hmm, I wouldn't like it very much. I've never liked these kinds of digital imrovings of the graphic, I think it actually makes it worse. I know that the colors and the contrast are tecnically much better than the original, but it's part of tha great style.

I forgot that this was my first post. Now that you mention it, Togo, the graphics are good just the way they are. forget what i said.

To begin hello to everyone :) , not PUDE understand what it is like a film of this caliber (actors that put the voices: Kevin Bacon, bridjet inn, Phil Collins. Banda sonora: James Horner!. Steven Spielberg as executive producer, a study as big as what is Universal, among many other things) did not have the success that is well deserved and still trying to follow this way, without wanting to do anything about it. So I will sign this request and will do so proud to believe that is what we can do better, both by popular make, to make more movies i, above all, that people know. That you are on the right things at all!
