Zero said boldly. He knew it was probably a bad move, but he had to show that he wasn't going to be shoved around, verbally or physically. "I was wanting to know what that was about."

"How about I pay you some of those bones back?" Zero asked, wondering how much debt Charlie was in to this guy. Let's see... I gave ten to Charlie as my rent, he took that gambling and made 70 but wasted almost all of it at dinner, two left... I still have 60 bones... Maybe I can ask Sasha for a job at the Fleabite so I can probably keep up with this guy and Charlie's tab and my rent...

Charlie had his ear up to the door listening to every exact word they were saying in there. He got more and more nervous until there was a loud thud on the floor. Charlie had fainted in fear of what Ace might do to him.

Zero looked at the door with a confused look on his face before looking back at Ace. "Anyway... You probably won't care, but my name is Zero."

Nika smiled gratfully at Itchy as she nudged Lucky in gently "C'mon Lucky, lets find a nice room eh?" She looked around and spotted Zero helping Charlie up teh stairs and ut her ears back in sympathy.She remebered when she would be beaten up, but she never had anyone there to help her up stairs, this place must be decent.She walked up the stairs where the rooms were, as she walked down teh hall she spotted Charlie, she had already heard about him and his friendship with Itchy, shelooked over to Charlie "I don't want to be a bum, is there anything jobs around here?Or any ways I could help out around the house?" She flet bad to be a mooch, she had always worked for wha she wanted and that wasn't going to change, she didn't like things being handed it to her.

"I guess if you want to work," replied Charlie shrugging his shoulder. "I will put you to work cleaning this old building all of the rooms are dusty and dirty, we could use a helping paw around here." Charlie who would never in his right mind think about helping would easily take help from someone else in order to avoid doing somethin he hated. He already had put Itchy, Sasha, and Zero to work and why should it be different for Nika.

Nika smiled sweetly at the male "Oh, this is Lucky, my pup." She nudged him forward and smiled again "Well adopted pup, but that doesn't matter to me." She licked the top of Lucky's head and picked him up by his scruff."Well he should be getting tired soon I bet, and I'm exhausted, I'm hiting thhay." She trotted down the hall and before she went into her room "Oh and, thanks." She blinked before walking into the room.

"Aren't you a lucky little dog, somebody would just adopt you like that," Charlie replied talking down to the little dog. Little pups are the only thing Charlie can not resist he absolutley loves them. "Hey if it okay with Nika tomorrow maybe the two of us can go to the park," He said looking up at Nika in a way that asked if it was okay for the two of them to go to the park.

Nika nodded "That would be great!" A ywan made her mouth gape open and she giggled a little "Good night Charlie, I'll see you tomorrow." She had a good feeling about the male, yes he was sly and somewhat a bad guy but sh knew there was goodness in himm, somewhere.She closed the door and jumped on the bed, snuggling up in the pilows "C'mon Lucky, we have a big day tomorrow." She whispered as she picked him up again an dput him next to her.

"Wow, this is turning out to be a great idea, I am going to be the richest dog in Firsco," he muttered to himself with a big smile on his face. "I am goint to be able to pay my tab off to Sasha in like a weeks time at this rate, man I am good" he said walking up the stairs into his room. When he got into bed he had a big smile on his face but this time for a different reason for a good reason he was excited to get to know the little sparkplug.

Nika felt him sneeze and smiled before snuggling up closer to him, her soft and long tail wrapped around his body to keep him warm before she too, fell asleep.

***It is now morning***

Rollie had just awoken. He didn't get the best nights sleep he heard what was going on in the other rooms. He had know idea it was Charlie and Ace getting into a fight. And he is still wondering what that thud was he heard outside his room, but he was too lazy to check it out.

He crawls out of bed and slowly opens the door and heads outside to get some fresh air.

(I was hoping to keep it in that spot so AFD would have a chance to post what Ace does... Ah well, I'll just flow with it and say that Ace said his name and said he would think about Zero paying for Charlie. If you're reading this AFD, I apologize.)

Zero was already up, bringing breakfast up to Charlie and Itchy. He knocked on the door lightly to see if they were awake.
