Rayni walked forwards faster tan he should of feeling terribly embarressed. He stumbled over his own paws and fell ontpo the ground with his face flaming. He got up hastily and moved over slightly more carefully, he smirked nervously.

Rayni giggled a bit when she saw his blush. "Isn't the moon gorgeous?" she sighed and leaned against him, resting her head on his shoulder. She twined her fluffy tail with his and looked up at him. He had the most handsome face, and black had always been her favorite color for fur.

Ebony smiled sheepishly "yeah, Its not the only one" he said looking right at Maur.

Rayni blushed. "Ebony, I... I-I... She looked away, her cheeks burning.

EWbomy smiled weakly, He was going to hell now anyway "Yeah" he said lookng away, he felt like an idiot to think Rayni would ever think of him like that.

"geez, just spill your guts about everything to this guy..." she mumbled to herself, then took a deep breath. "Look... When I first met you, I thought you were... Cute... But I didn't like you in that way... A-and I think... I think now I am thinking of you in 'that way'..."

Ebony stared at his paws dumbly, Taking a moment for Raynis words to sink in. When they did he found himself unable to speak, or even think. He Smiled weakly and looked at the moon unable to think of words.

Rayni got up and turned away, she took a step the opposite way from him. Her tail drooped. "Nevermind..." Her voice was full of sorrow. How could she have ever believed he thought of her as more than a friend? She took another step away, turned to give him a goodbye glance, then trudged into the woods, her tail between her legs. She had made a fool of herself. Ebony could keep the den for himself. She wouldn't need it. She broke into a sprint and raced deep into unknown territory, her tears splattering the ground. She was leaving. And she wouldn't be coming back.

Ebony wathed her go and mentally kicked himself, Ebony had never been much of a talker and he hated it. He wanted to run after Rayni and explain but somehow he couldnt find the courage to.He looked at the forest she'd just dissapeared into and started trudging back to the den. He felt ready to die but as sonn as he lay down he heard pawsteps "Whos there?" he called, not in any mood to get up.

Shadow looked in "uh, I was,uh..." he looked uncomfertable

Ebony smirked "Rayni told me about you're little secret" he said dully.

Shadow swallowed "I was hoping to speak to her" he said.

Ebony turned away "well you're out of luck. She's gone" he said flatly.

"Kill me now..." Rayni cried. She ran far and long until she was exhausted. Looking up, she realized her paws had brought her to a cave. there was bound to be a bear inside; she could smell it. Now I understand why Shadow tried to kill himself... she thought, a few tears falling to the ground. She took a step forward, peering into ther cave. Looking around, she took mental pictures of her beautiful home, so that ahe would remember it in her next life. She took a deep breath and closed her eyes, carefully placing one foot infront of the other so that she wouldn't trip. If she saw anything else beforew she died, she feared she would lose the special places in her brain, saved for shadow, her home, her friends from the pack, Ebony...

Ebony looked up "Somethings wrong" he said suddenly, he closed his eyes and focused his mind on Rayni "Oh god" he muttered. He opened his eyes and saw Shadow already on his feet. He stood up "Come on! Shes gona kill herself" he half yelled.

Shadow gasped and started to sprin out with Ebony close behind, He smelt the bear and shied back but closed his eyes in concentration. He stepped forward and sniffed the air "Theres a Bear in here Ebony" he said.

EBony nodded, dimly noting this was the first time Shadow Hadnt called him . He moved forwards but was held back.

"I thinkits time I repayed Rayni" said Shadow. He walked forwards quietly and Noticed Ebony was following. He smirked and carried on to find Rayni.

"Shadow?" Rayni said in disbelief. Her eyes snapped open, ruining her chances of saving the images. Her eyes had adjusted to the dark, and when she turned she saw the silhouette of him near the entrance, with another wolf beside him. Ebony. New tears sprung up in her eyes when she saw him. He looked so small and thin next to Shadow, but Shadow was built fro combat, and Ebony for speed. A menacing growl came from behind her, and Rayni realized the bear was awake. Her eyes widened. She was putting her brothers and her loves lives in danger. "Shadow! Ebony! Get out of here!"

"Shadow?" Rayni said in disbelief. Her eyes snapped open, ruining her chances of saving the images. But neither was listening, It was the first time the two had ever been united in one goal. Ebony raced forward with Shadow only slightly behind. Shadow went straight for the bear's throat earning a scratch on the face as Ebony darted in to grab the bears leg. Ebony looked over at Rayni with a silent plea in his eye for her to get out of here. `suddenly the bear struck him so hard on the face it sent his head hard into the wall.

Tears stained her face. "No! Shadow! Ebony! Leave! This is what I want!" she saw ebony slam into the wall, and a fresh batch of tears streamed down her face. Shadow had escaped one or the bears attacks, and was getting ready to try again, when the bear lashes ou a second time. Rayni lept infront of it, and it's claws dug deep into her flesh, opening up the long scar from many years before. It was right by her heart. If she lost too much blood, she would die, and she knew that. She pushed Shadow out of the cave, away from the commotion, with the last of her strength. Limping back, she tried to reach Ebony, but collapsed right infront of him. Her eyes flickered closed, and she mouthed three words before losing conciousness. 'I love you..."
