Halina nodded and looked back over towards the woods.

"See ya Halina!" Simon called as he padded off to the beach.

Halina sighed, and soon was off following him behind a distance to watch him race his friends.

When Simon got to the beach there were a bunch of dogs his age there. When they set up for the races, a large group waited at the finish line. They were off at the sound of a bark. The races darted down the beach, all staying neck and neck, until Simon jolted out in front, jumping across the finish line before all of them. The crowd at the end laughed and cheered and a slim black female moved to Simon's side, whispering a flirty "congrats" and giving him a lick on his cheek, making Simon blush slightly.

Halina saw the female and quickly dropped her ears and tail and slowly slipped back between the buildings and off home.

Simon raced for hours before he went home.
The next morning, Simon made his way to Halina's home, Vanessa walking and talking with him.

Halina was sleeping in the shadows, not where she normally slept.

Simon tilted her head when he saw where she was sleeping. "Hey Halina.." he greeted.

Halina opened one of her eyes and looked over at him before moving her head the other way and closing her eye again.

Simon folded back his ears and stepped back. Vanessa tilted her head and padded over to her mother. "Momma what's wrong?" she asked.

"Nope," was all she said keeping her eyes closed.

"Mooom." Vanessa hummed. "You usually perk up when Simon comes by. Come on..what's wrong?"

"It's nothing," she said again and turned her back towards Vanessa and curled hr tail around her body.

Simon lowered his head and crept off. "Sorry to bother you." he said and disappeared.

"No it's my fault, think i'm just over reacting a tad bit," she said. "And I know you won the race," she said and smirked perking up finally.
