Scamp's Adventure was great, but it was more. . . "Cute" than "meaningful", unlike Lady and the Tramp. Scamp and Angel are cute and all, but. . . Meh, Lady and the Tramp just had some sort of "magic", if you will, around it.
Yep, Lady and the Tramp is classic animation, while Scamp's Adventure is just a cute sequel that's does (surprisingly) bring back the classic feeling of the original (with the settings, patterns and the original look), while also giving a character (Scamp) a girlfriend (Angel) and a reason to love his family even more.
I know, I've talked about these too much, but this is a fun topic!

[EDIT - 10/25/06] - In a previous post, I mentioned something about Scamp's siblings having different names (waaaaaay back on page one). I bought a book about Scamp (it was written in 1998, while Scamp's Adventure was in the development process) and it mentioned that Scamp was not the only male pup! He had a brother named Scooter and two sisters (Ruffy and Fluffy) that looked like Lady (their mother, duh.). To back this up, I was in a bookstore yesterday, and in a newly-published book by Disney, it mentions that Lady and Tramp's puppies were indeed named Scooter, Ruffy, Fluffy, and Scamp. (it was published this year) Unfortunately, the gender of Scooter was changed in the Lady and the Tramp sequel, making the three siblings all girls (and all annoyingly annoying) with different names: Annette, Collette, and Danielle.
So hopefully this clears some things up. (if anyone really seems to care about this - especially since the directors and producers of the sequel really wanted to keep the feel of the original film . . . so why did they change the pups in the first place? Odd, eh?)

Wow! I've never heard of that! That's really interesting ^^ It would've been well awesome to see Scamp's brother ^_^
I wish they hadn't changed Scooter's gender. And Fluffy and Ruffle's names
Thanks for the info Juunchan17 ^_^

Oh, man, no contest--the first one! You can't beat it. I don't dislike the sequel as much as I did when I first saw it, but it's nowhere near as good. I did like the Junkyard Dogs, especially Ruby, but they were my favorite part of the whole thing. The first movie's a masterpiece. My favorite scene is in the pound, but I love all of it.

^Yeah, my favorite parts are the junkyard dogs (Ruby's my favorite of them), and Angel. Angel pwns all the characters in LatT2. Lady and the Tramp is by far the better one, though. Can't beat the classics!

I usually love the girls in the gangs.

To back up the whole Angel fandom: I think the only reason why Angel ended up being the lead female (step aside, Lady?) is because not only was she cutely designed (she looks like a furry Chihuahua or something . . . I remember the commentary on the DVD mentioned what breed she was), she was strong-willed and independent (although she was somewhere she didn't want to be), but also she had an interesting story on how she tried so hard to find a real family of her own. Although she looks small-sized, her words make her seem wiser than her years. I guess that's what happens when you face struggles alone (I suppose that's what Scamp learned when he got caught . . . other than the whole "OMG I miss my family" sap. No offense.). *sigh* Ruby was just an update of that singing dog from the pound in the original IMO. She reminded me of Sylvie from Balto - did anyone else think of that? - Juuchan17

It's like Angel told Scamp
Angel said:You have a home, and family that loves you.

Mmhmm, Angel's personality, maturity for her age, and the wisdom she gained from the experiences so far in her short lifetime make her pretty admirable.
The commentary said she was "based on a Pomeranian type dog," but the way I figure it, she may have that sort of look now, but she and Scamp are supposed to be puppies around the same age, yes? So she couldn't BE a Pom or other toy, or else she'd already be full-grown. And she has the look of a pup who'll grow larger...at least the size of a Shiba Inu... Scamp, we can assume, will look pretty much just like Tramp--a mid-sized terrier mutt. Anyway.
Ruby does sort of remind me of Peg, which could be part of the reason I like her; Peg was my favorite from the first movie. But they were both among the many girls enamored with Tramp. Maybe it's possible they knew/know each other.

I think Scamp's Adventure was better mainly because I fell in love with Jodi Benson's and Alyssa Milano's voice while watching it HAHA!!!!!
