Sean shrank away, still hurting. He winced as it became normally light outside, and sighed in relief.
"I-I know..thanks, for scaring her off....Sorry i cant handle the light. Daylight is one thing, heavenly light is another. It hurts." He said, shaking.

"Yeah, I know. I'm really sorry. Maybe we should go somewhere else. It's not safe out here," Angie said. She picked up Sean and started to walk.

Sean nodded, and sighed contently as Angie picked him up. He buried his face in her chest and enjoyed the cool afternoon. Sean felt one of his feathers slip off, but he grabbed it before it could change into a bird. He gave it to Angie.
"Keep it?"

Angie smiled at the offer. She reached out and took the feather. "Of course. I'll keep it forever." She held Sean's head with her chin after a light kiss on the top of it. "I love you Sean."

Sean pale grey hair blew softly on a light breeze. He smiled into Angie's chest , and looked up at her. His bottom lip quavered, as if he was gonna cry, and he linked his hands around her neck for a hug. "Same here."

Angie stood Sean up so she could hug him back. "I want to be with you for a long time," Angie said as she wrapped her wings around Sean. She kissed him, slowly and softly, as happy tears rolled down her cheeks.

Sean smiled and wiped away her tears with his thumb.
"Dont cry for me." He whispered through the kiss, unfolding his black wings and letting them hang limply.

It was almost dark. "I have to go. See you tomorrow? Meet for coffee at 10?" Angie said as she walked off.

Sean stood hopelessly and pulled the corners of his lips up for a weak smile. "Yeah...Sure." He mumbled, launching himself into the black nightime sky.

Angie couldn't fall asleep. She got up and went for a walk in the forest. She shivered as the cold night wind stung her face.

Sean watched the city below him as he sat perched on top of a tall building.
"If only i could die.." He mused, leaning forward.

Why is this so painful? Angie thought. The wind was brittle, as it cut through her like a knife. Her lips started to crack and bleed gold blood. Pain rushed to her head and she started to feel dizzy. She fell to the ground with a thump.It started to snow.

Something pulled at Sean's body. He turned, but saw nothing. He leaned over once more, and the feeling of being pushed sent him falling over the edge. His wings froze up and he plummeted to the ground like a rocket.

The next morning...

Angie woke feeling bitterly cold. She felt her head. It was sticky and a huge bump was there. Dried blood covered the snow as the snow covered her. She felt numb. When she got home she looked in the mirror. There were bags underneath her eyes, her hair was a mess, and there was a huge gash on her forehead.

Sean was cold. Colder than he had ever been as a body of water engulfed him. He cried out, and tried to swim; but his hands were tried behind his back. He was in some kind of cage, sinking to the river floor.
