Kodi nodded. "Didnt say you had to trust me either." he said and would head out.

Kai would look to Cachen and sigh. He didn't want to hurt his little brother. "Cachen, he's gonna try anything to get Momma. Which is why we're following him."

Dusty and Fang headed after him.

"Kodi... I'm a little scared... When I snapped at you, I sounded just like my dad..." said Fang, scared. "Do you think maybe I'm more like him than I thought?" he asked, always terrified of becoming like his father.

"Katie!" called Shenkin, running up to Katie, Jenna, and Balto.

"Stay down wind," advised Lena, knowing Katie would detect their scent if they didn't.

Kodi looked to Fang, and frowned. He knew his friend was very afraid of being like his father. "Fang... It may not mean much coming from me right now, but...You are nothing like your Dad. not that I've heard of, anyways."

Katie would turn her head from where she was sniffing, surprised. "Shenkin!" she said. "What's going on?"


Balto didn't trust the wolf one bit, and looked to him as he approched the three of them.

Tai nodded and kept down on her belly, beneath the brush.

Dusty nodded. "Yeah, Fang. You're nothing like Steele. If you didn't look like him, I wouldn't even know you're his son."

Fang smiled slowly. "Thanks guys, that means a lot..."

"I didn't find the pups, but I need to talk to you... Alone," said Shenkin. "It's really important."

Kodi smiled cautiously. "But you're probably ten times scarier when you're mad..." he said, ears laying back.

Katie looked surprised for a moment. "Alright," she said, and would nod to her in-laws, telling them she'd be okay. Shenkin wouldn't dare try anything funny with her. She would walk underneath some brush, away from sight.


Tai blinked in shock. "C/mon!" she whispered. "We have to follow and make sure he doesn't say anything!"

"Yeah, though in all honesty, mom was like that too..." said Fang, thinking back.

"Little Dove, I saw your ex-boyfriend in town, it seems he's running himself ragged apologizing to his buddies for what he did to you," said Shenkin, hiding disgust.

Kodi winced. "Well, goodness."

Katie was surprised at this. "First off. He was my mate, not boyfriend." she said. She tilted her head. "Next off... Why would that matter?" she knew what it meant. Maybe... Maybe he still loves me, and wants to apologize to me too?

Dusty nodded. "That's a scary thought..."

"Yeah, getting mom mad normally ended badly, otherwise she was really nice," said Fang, remembering what little he could of his mother.

"It would seem he's hoping to get back together with you, he seems really guilty," said Shenkin, still hiding his disgust.

Kodi smiled sadly, knowing Fang couldn't remember much about his mother.

Katie actually looked surprised. Her eyes softened, and hers ears went back. He wanted her back? Her heart fluttered the same time she still had that fire in her belly. Who wouldn't be angry? But... She just couldn't forget about him. She looked away, the spark in her eyes returning at the mere though of Kodi back with her. "I see..."

"There's Ralph," said Dusty, pointing.

"Too bad someone else already has their eyes on you," said Shenkin, smirking rather disturbingly.

"Yep, I see him." Kodi said.

Katie blinked, looking up. She seemed definitely disturbed. "... What?' she asked, cocking an eyebrow. "Shenkin, what are you talking about?"

OOC: You were Ralph in Race For Life I think. You want to be him here?

Dusty nodded. "Alright, you can see how he feels."

"Well isn't it obvious?" asked Shenkin, looking concerned. "My little dove, Kodi betrayed you once, he can't be trusted... But I've always been there for you. I've never done you wrong in anything... You know I love you and I always will," he said, coming over. "Forget about that dirty cheater, you and the pups come with me. I'll keep you safe, I'll never betray you, I promise you that. I won't do what HE did."

I'm not sure... He is pretty close to you. He's going to break my neck." Kodi swallowed, his jaw hard.

Katie's eyes widened, ears pressed down. She took a half step back, eyes concerned. "At least... You finally came out and said it. But-" she shook her head. "I don't feel for you that way, and i'm sure you know it. You are a good friend, you were my best friend when we were young." she said, sighing. "But love doesn't stretch farther than it would if you were my brother. I'm sorry."
