Nika closed her eyes, falling to sleep as black rushed overher.When she awoke two dead friends laid in the snow and Konan was over her."K-K-Konan...I love you." SHe whispered weakly.

Aaron shed one last tear for his brother, and then followed the dog's orders. He didn't want to get killed as well, and he had to help Ace find Darkwolf. He turned to Ace and then sniffed the air. He smelled old gasoline, perhaps where the truck had been. "This way!" he called, then he ran in that direction.

Sadie struggled to follow them, her bullet wound sending blood dripping down her leg, staining her brown and black fur. Her almond eyes watched them frantically, haunted by thoughts filled with guns, death, and blood. She grimaced as she fell again, and stayed laying on the ground, crumpled. She couldn't keep up, and she would only be a hindrance to them. She layed her ears back miserably. Why does everything go wrong? she asked herself silently.

Aaron watched as Sadie collapsed. He ran to her quickly. "Sadie, stay here with Nika and Kodan! We'll be back as soon as we can!" he said. He then raced back and led Ace to a building. He sniffed the air. "He's here, I can tell..." he said silently. He crept into a small entrance and then he looked around inside, trying to find where Dark could be.

Riley's eyes were still shut. He couldn't see anything. He couldn't breathe. He couldn't hear. He couldn't move. He was one minute away from completley fading away from the world. Suddenly, he felt something hit his throat. It was a small leaf. It was pretty small, but big enough to cover the hole that the bullet tore. He suddenly opened his eyes, and coughed heavily. The leaf blew away. He pulled himself up, struggling on the last breath he had. The breath that the leaf had allowed him to take. He pulled himself up, draggin his hind legs which both had bullets in them as well. He was able to drag himself as far as where Sadie was. He collapsed beside her, unable to pull himself any further. He still had a little bit of breath left, and he thought about his brother, his dead parents, the hunters, the city. He decided he wouldn't give up, he wouldn't die. At least, not without a fighting chance. He pulled himself up again and he dragged on and on. He found himself in the city, and he pushed on. Soon, he lost air, and fell to the ground. Darkness engulfed his eyes, his sight. But he soon woke up with bandages around his throat and on his hind legs. He was in what looked like a lab. But a human came through the door. He had the words "DVM" on them. Under that, it read "Doctor of Vetenarian Medicine".

Aaron looked around in the building. When he heard a howl, he ran towards the source. "This way!" he told Ace. Soon enough, he came to Darkwolf's cage. "Are you ok Dark?" he asked him. Aaron picked the lock until it finally came undone. "Ace and I have been looking for you!"

Riley looked at the Vet, and titled his head. The vet came close to him and looked at his wounds. "You must have gotten in some mess huh buddy?" he asked the wolf. Riley barked, now seeing this man had helped to save his life. "I found you on the outside of the city while I was on my evening walk. As soon as I saw you, I rushed you over here to my office. We had to perform surgery to get those bullets out, but I guess it was worth it, huh boy?" Riley barked happily. The vet looked at the chain around Riley's neck. "Do you belong to the police force boy? Maybe we should get you back as soon as possible..." he said. Riley growled, showing his teeth. The vet backed off a bit, then took a look at Riley's teeth. After looking at them for a few seconds, he reconized that they were wolf canines, not dog teeth. "Oh, I see. Those police men must've mistaken you," the vet said, then laughed. He took the chain off of Riley's neck. Riley barked happily, and licked the man's face as if to say thank you. He jumped off the table and walked out of the animal hospital. He then tried to search for his brother Aaron, limping slightly where the bandages were, but able to walk now.

Aaron laughed. "Well, I'm glad you're ok," he said. He stepped back and looked at the german sheperds. "I'm sure they're happy here, but just incase we should ask them."

Riley sniffed the air. He finally caught the scent of his brother Aaron. He ran towards it, slightly limping with his hind legs as he did. He soon arrived at a building. He looked for Aaron and wondered why he would be in a place like this. When suddenly, he saw him. He ran towards him. "Aaron!" he said. He soon was right in front of them.

Aaron couldn't believe his eyes. He thought for sure that Riley was dead. He took a look at him once more and noticed all the bandages. He ran around excitedly. "Bro! You're alive! I can't believe it! You're alive!" he said, then hugged him. "But how?" he asked.

Riley smiled. "I was able to get a small ounce of air from a leaf. I used that air to drag myself into the city. When I got to the border, I lost the air and fell unconsious. But when I woke up, I was at the vet's office and was all bandaged up. Apparently, he did surgery and got the bullets out."

Aaron grinned and hugged Riley again. "I just can't believe you're alive!"

Sadie closed her eyes, the trees looming over her, making her feel small and miniscule in comaprison. She didn't hear the hunter come, lost in her own thoughts of misery. She opened her eyes as she heard a crack, then unbeleivable pain radiated from near her spine. She let out a strangled howl of pain, then her head fell to the ground, limp.

Aaron nodded as the two german sheperds agreed to join them. But he didn't hear Sadie's howl of pain. It was too far, too faint, for him to hear it.

Riley's ears shot up like a bullet, and he ran off like lightning into the forest. He tripped and fell because of his hind legs, but got up and kept running. He reached Sadie and whimpered as he saw her in pain. "Don't worry! I'll help!" he assured her. He took her on his back and ran as fast as he could to the vet who had helped him. When he got there, he found the man and whimpered. He scratched the door to his office. He opened it and gasped slightly as Riley let down Sadie. The vet took Sadie to the table to get the bullets out, and Riley followed.
