The Thunder attack came straight through the roof, hitting Flygon directly, but when the smoke had cleared, the Flygon emerged untouched and unharmed. It gave a high-pitched siren off at the Pikachu.

Gardenia shook her head. "Flygon's part ground-type. Electric attacks won't work on it."

The Flygon let out another enraged peal when Brook leapt onto its back, though it wasn't able to hang on for long when Flygon dive-bombed at the ground, twirling in a full circle just in time to avoid crashing to the floor and throwing off the Pokémon on its back.

"Let's see if this'll work. Torterra, Frenzy Plant!!"

Immediately, multiple vines jumped up from the ground; as Flygon was already close to the floor, the vines shot out with lightning speed and seized the Flygon by swathing around its body. Then, all around them, the trees seemed to shift as a hailstorm of razor-sharp leaves came and buffeted the trapped Flygon.

ooc: this post is edited..I remembered that Joey is a Swellow and so she can fly at high altitudes too.

Joey, with a mighty flap of her wings, flew up into the air.
"Joey, you're being stupid, leave this to the legendaries..who think they are greater than us because they're so powerfull, well power isn't everything." Bayblade muttered the last part, he was a very stuck up pokemon, filled with pride and, worst of all, he pretty much only cared about himself. But Joey was his friend, he had to stop her somehow, she was heading straight for an infected pokemon, and she wasn't immune.

ooc: oh? I thought they were a bit higher than the gym, I thought that if the latios was the high, a pikachu could easliy jump onto the building and then jump up to the latios. Post edited, sorry for getting it all wrong.

Thomas listened intently to the information Kyrene was kind enough to share, though upon knowing that the estimated time in actually finding an "antidote" to this virus was still unknown. All he could do was hope that it would be soon, before all Pokemon were infected.

Suddenly, the glass ceiling vibrated violently as a roar erupted from a powerful source. The Lugia lifted his head closer towards the glass and peered around in search for whatever wanted to be noticed. A growl formed from deep within his throat when he spoted the currupt Latios flying ever so swiftly towards the gym. He didn't react to Gardenia's shrieks and Kyrene panicing, but the sound of broken glass caught his full attention. His eyes instictively closed as shards of glass showered from above, and when he was positive he wouldn't risk losing an eye, he glared at the Flygon that once belonged to Kyrene.

Gardenia organized everyone with their opponent, and Thomas figured he'd take flight as to give everyone room to battle. In one fluid like motion of his wings, the Lugia lifted into the air, passing both the Flygon and the Latios, before he took cover behind a large cloud. He'd jump in to fight when he's needed.

Mello grinned menacingly as he neared the gym, and once he positioned himself just above the structure, he planned on shattering the glass roof with another powerful roar. But before he was even given the opportunity to taken in enough air to do so, he noticed a green figure dart past him and crash through the glass like a knife through butter. He growled disapprovingly, but he then thought that he didn't have to risk getting cut in the process.

Just as he was about to lower himself within the building, a red and white figure shot up and hovered just a few feet in front of him. His blood-red eyes widened slightly as he observed the other Pokemon facing him, and once he realized it was that same Latias that had healed him, his face contorted in a snarl. "Don't ask me to stop, 'cause I won't." He growled before he noticed another Pokemon was heading straight towards him and the Latias.

He smirked before he darted past the Latias towards the oncoming Swellow. He wasn't about to let a opportunity like this to pass him by. Mello opened his mouth slightly as he prepared to use bite on his target. After a few seconds, the two nearly collided, but in the process of merely crashing into one another, the dark Latios had reached for the Swellow's neck before snapping his jaws shut.

High uptop, Razza found it difficult to contain his excitement at seeing the battle rage below. Soon, there would be a big enough distraction for him to make his move. Soon, very soon...




A nearby explosion made Kyrene shriek out as she fumbled with all the different vials, trying all the different posibilities she could think of; whose blood had the greatest immunity to the virus, trying to get an idea of what traits remained constant so that she might be able to derive a positive serum. But it was next to hopeless. She was only an assistant nurse, and with such a battle raging outside her door, there was no way she could get the quiet and concentration she needed. Even so, she forced the task upon herself as she kept to her work. dESPITE the obvious setbacks, there were a few new discoveries she was able to elicit from the Pokemons' samples that she believed could be the cause of new leads.

As she suspected, the young Lugia proved to have the greatest immunity to the virus, being a psychic legendary. And it wasn't until after she mixed Miki, the Riolu's sample with her remaining Regigigas sample that she was able to come to her first real conclusion:

"Only legendaries can cure legendaries," she said in almost a whisper. And so it was true; though Miki was invulnerable to the virus himself, his DNA, nor any of the other Pokémons' was potent enough to cure a full-fledged legendary. Her next experiment proved her hypothesis; by mixing the Lugia's sample with Regigigas, not only were the virus cells repelled by the Lugia's, but utterly exterminated!! Therefore, an uncommon Pokémon somehow defeating an infected uncommon should also be a cure!!

It all finally made sense!! And so Kyrene set to work deriving a serum from the Lugia's blood. Though she felt incredibly rushed, she had to made do with what she had and what was going on in the rooms outside. The centrifuge sooner stopped turning, and Kyrene extracted the immunity cells and carefully placed them into a vial, which she quickly labeled "Antidote."

Though she didn't get enough to work with; only a couple milligrams. The vial would be enough to permanently cure an uncommon Pokémon, or merely weaken the infection of a legendary. She was about to go out and tell Gardenia and the others the good news before the ceiling over her workspace collapsed. Quickly, Kyrene grabbd the antidote vial, but all her previous samples and equipment were smashed to pieces. Kyrene tried to scream and yell out, but her voice caught in her throat, when, as the dirt began to clear, she could see the shining stripes flashing through the dust, and a discolored Rayquaza emerged from the cloud, bellowing out a screeching roar that drowned out Kyrene's second attempt at a scream.

Before. Kyrene could call for help, however, a thick tail constricted around her waist rather tightly. And the young nurse felt the air nearly being wringed from her lungs as she dropped the antidote vial to the floor.




Razza was in and out as fast as he could, as he didn't want to have to deal with the nuisance of the other Pokémon in the girl's traveling party. He held the girl flailing in the tight grip of his tail, and before any of the other Pokémon could notice or try to attack, he slithered back among the high layer of the ozone and disappeared out of sight and out of reach with the young nurse still flailing in his clutch.

His bite attack had made contact with the Swellow, and he made sure his jaws clamped shut. It would take a great amount of strength to pry his mouth open. He was so intent on causing as much misfortune for his prey that he barely noticed the Rilou that had managed to jump upon his back and reach the Swellow.

"You want some blood, try mine but if you like being this way, I'd think twice, I'm immune, so my blood may heal you."

The dark Latios smirked devilishly before he began to violently shake his catch, deliberatly jerking his head side to side using the powerful muscles in his neck. Surely the Rilou would lose its grip, being unable to grab ahold of something when he was thrashing about. Still, it didnt satisfy him enough. And so, with his jaws securely fastened around the Swellow's body, Mello shot towards the atmosphere at incredible speed in a straight, vertial direction. Maybe then he'd be left alone to do whatever he wished to his victim.

It was about that time that he realized that another Pokemon had somehow made it upon his back. A Mightyena had managed to sink its teeth into the back of his neck. The dark Latios roared in pain and frustration, and in return he swerved his head back, facing the Mightyena, and took in a lungful of air before unleashing Dragonbreath. Whether his attack made a direct hit or not, he knew that the higher he flew into the sky the quicker his foes would have trouble breathing and possibly faint.

Thomas had been surveying the pandemonia from high in the sky, consealing himself in a mass of clouds. The sudden appearance of the Rayquaza surprised him, and before he knew it the currupt Legendary had snatched Kyrene and took off back into the atmosphere. A deep groul bellowed from the depths of his throat before he began his persuit. He was indeed a more skillful flyer now that he was full grown, which also aided in his speed. Fortunately, the Lugia caught up with the Rayquaza and attempt to reach for Kyrene, aiming to grab ahold of her clothes. It was no use.

He snarled in determination, and flapped his mighty wings to bring him ever closer to the Rayquaza's head. But before he even began thinking of what attack to use, Thomas recalled what Kyrene had said about the antidote to the virus. 'Only Legendaries can cure Legendaries.' If that were true, all he had to do was bite the Rayquaza, allowing some of his saliva to seep into a wound, and in time the immune antibodies would begin to take effect. He quickly formulated a scheme to trick the currupt Pokemon in believing he would only try to free Kyrene of his grip, and instead aim to bite it somewhere. 'That's it!'

Slowing himself until his head was near Kyrene, he opened his jaws in an attempt to grab her by the shirt, or at least make it seem that he was. If the Rayquaza were to reach back to attack, Thomas could swerve to the other side of its body and bite it before it even has time to react. It was a very risky plan but it had to do.

Razza knew the sky well, and once again, his pride seemed to have gotten the better of him as he thought that he'd outwitted the other Pokémon and had made a clean getaway. However, no sooner did he convince himself that he was free did he notice the Lugia coming up from behind. Outraged, Razza's stripes turned a vivid shade of orange as he coiled himself in a tight circle and spun around, generating thick arcs of static electricity which he hurled at the Lugia in a series of startling Thunderbolt attacks (Kyrene felt herself becoming sick).

When that failed, Razza dive-bombed at the ground, careful to keep his grip on the girl nice and tight. This way, Razza quickly gained speed, the scene at the damaged Pokémon Gym now fading off in the distance. With a smirk, Razza knew that not even the Lugia could resist abandoning the scene there. As he regained altitude, he found that the Lugia was still in hot pursuit, which only meant Razza had to loose it somehow.

With the girl secured at the end of his tail, Razza used her as bait to lure the weary Lugia closer. Eventually, the Lugia began to make quick snaps at the girl, and Razza was quick to jerk her out of the way at the last second. A few times, he repeated this process, for he enjoyed seeing the Lugia's pathetic attempts at trying to retrieve the girl, until he saw that it had suddenly changed tactics.

Kyrene, whose world was slowly starting to slip into a void, somehow had enough sense in her to see what the Lugia was trying to do. But instead of using its efforts on her, she tried calling out to it over the howl of wind in her ears. "Lugia!! The vial of antidote!! I dropped it back at the gym!! You have to go and get it!!"

Whirling through the air, the Lugia's mouth was agape, ready to make another snap at the girl. Razza thought to retaliate, and before he did, he corkscrewed in mid-air, releasing the girl and flinging her up like a doll. With great ease, Razza caught her back in the clutches of his meager arms and made a quick flick of his tail to bring across the Lugia's head.

Suddenly, a ripple of pain shot through Razza's body as he saw the Lugia jerk unexpectedly and catch the end of his tail in his mouth. Razza screamed, nearly releasing the girl, before he doubled back and coiled his body around the Lugia. Stripes glowing red, Razza channeled the energy he'd been storing in him through deadly arcs of electricity which he sent stabbing through every side of the Lugia's body. When the Lugia roared out in agony, his tail was released, and as Razza was finished with him, the corrupt Rayquaza flung the Lugia forcefully down at the ground below before opening his mouth a jetting out a fierce Ice Beam at it.

Last Razza saw of the Lugia, it was plummeting down to Earth, nearly knocked out, he guessed, with the Ice Beam coming after it to finish it off. If the Ice Beam hits, Lugia will surely become infected. But the Rayquaza didn't care about the Lugia enough to watch if it did.

Razza roared out triumphantly in the sky as his body changed to a vibrant shade of white. Looking down in his arms, he saw that the nurse had lost consciousness, and has hanging limply over the side of his claws. Careful not to jostle her an further, Razza slithered back higher into the sky, disappeared among the clouds, and was lost to the others.

Another jolt of pain radiated out from his bitten tail.
