Rayni smiled softly and acted as if she were in a daze. "When we were pups, Shadow and I, our mother died giving birth to us... Father had ditched Mother a while before, and chased after some other girl. Even though I was the smaller of the two of us, it was my job to take care of him... He was a guy, and guys usually aren't as good at mothering. So I was in charge of finding things to eat and drink, since we had no mother, and therefore no milk... We fed off of stale meat left bahind by other packs, until oneday Shadow fell in love... it was this beautiful gray wolf with green eyes, and strangely enough, she looked alot like me. But she was gorgeous... He saw her in secret every night, and thought she loved him, but it turned out she was only using him to make her crush jealous... Once the gray wolf and her crush were together, and Shadow came that night to meet her, he saw her with him and knew immediately what had happened... When all of this happened, Shadow was a sweet wolf, never wanting to hurt anybody. But he headed home crying that night and wandered purposely into a bears cave, disturbing it. The she-wolf was his whole life, and now she was gone... So he wanted to die. The bear slashed him across the eye, giving him the three scars. But I heard the roars when the angry bear woke up, and ran to help him. I shoved him out of the way, and tried to fight the bear myself... I never did kill it, but I didn't escape unharmed..." She raised her muzzle to show three deep scars leading all the way from her chin to the bottom of her tail. They were barely noticable through her fluffy fur, until she pointed them out. "He gave me several other ones aswell..." She lifted up her legs, revealing more scars, everywhere on her body. "I did all I could to stop it. And when I fled, Shadow wasn't with me anymore. I found him back at our den sobbing, with blood gushing from the slash on his eye. From that day forward he had sworn to protect me with his life... He tries not to look weak, that's why he acts so harsh." She sighed. "When we first met, I told you he kicked me out because I had beaten him in a battle. That's what I tell everyone as a cover-up... He never kicked me out, but instead set me free. He knew I never liked being in a large group of wolves, and he knew that his pack wasn't being very healthy. Shadow isn't mean. He never has been. He's just frustrated, because he thinks nothing in his life has gone right... When he set me free, we mad a plan to pretend to hate eachother around everyone else, so that they wouldn't think he was weak. I promised I would stay in the territory next to his, so that we could still visit eachother whenever we needed..." Then she became herself again. "Bet you never saw that coming!"

Ebony looked shocked "Wow Rayni, I-" he started. But couldnt find the right words to go on. He'd never have the courage to talk about his past like Rayni just had. He'd never told anyone that and never would. He just stared dumbly at the ground for a minute "Wow" he finished Finnally. He didnt think Rayni would ask him, Rayni wasnt like that...Was she?

"nOthing" said Ebony hastily. He looked down at his paws again. He closed his eyes against the wind and sighed. He didnt think anybody would know about his past ever again.

"Look, Maur" sighed Ebony "You know how I said my Father WAS an elemant wolf? well, He still woiuld be if it wasnt for me. When I first found out I could control wind I didnt understand how powerful it was, I was stupid and impulsive. I...I thought it was fun to scare people with it, I almost killed someone until my father stopped me. I didnt understand why he'd given me ghis, he flicked back some fur to show three deep scars running across hiis cheek "I was just so angry that...I took it out on my whole pack, i did something noone should ever do" he stopped andlooked ashamedly at the ground.

"And then you came to shadow, and he was sympathetic and let you join the pack..." rayni smiled softly. So much hystory had just spilled from the both of them. It was a bit overwhelming.

"yeah, thats pretty much it...And I killed my parents" he added shrugging. He smiled at Rayni "Anyway, lets go" he said.
Shadow paced for a bit then sighed. He subconsiusly ran a paw along the scars across his eye, wishing he cpould rewind time.

Rayni was smaller and faster than Ebony, and got back to the badger den before him. She wreaked of human, so she quickly slipped into the water pool and rinsed off. She pulled herself out and sat on a rock, looking out into the forest. Her fluffy fur billowed in the breeze, and for once, rayni noticed that it had becom dark early. The moon shone clearly in the sky, and a beam fell through the trees and landed on her, making her almost glow.

Ebony followed at his own pace, He smiled when he saw Rayni standing in the moon beam and stopped. He sighed when he realised with dawning horror that he was falling in love with her.

rayni sat for a while before she noticed ebony. Ha was staring at her. She blushed a bit. "There's a nice view over here..." she smiled and beckoned him over with a flick of her hair.
