who wouldn't be Drew? You're making a trailer for Balto 4! The majority (or at the minimum half) of the Balto fan community wanted a Balto 4, and you are giving them the nezt best thing.
If you don't mind, when you release the trailer, I'd like to burn it onto CD.

Just one quick question:
What will be the average frame rate for this project?
- 5fps
- 10fps
- 15fps
- 17.79fps
- 20fps --- This one I recommend for average keyframes
- 22.27fps
- 24.33fps
- 25fps
- 25.66fps
- 27.47fps
- 29.97fps
- 30fps
- 33.39fps
- or other
Since you will probably using an animation program like Flash MX 2004 Pro or Corel R.A.V.E. 3 (like me), easiest way to go with animating this movie would probably be 20fps (including keyframes) at most if you are planning to animate entirely by hand-drawn frames. Even 15/17.79fps would be good for a fairly smooth animation sequence inbetween keyframes.
EDIT: With 20fps- and considering how many people are working on this project- the completion date would then take a really long time... Perhaps 10/12.82fps would be a fine start until you get much more into detail later...

We were thinking about 12 fps as that will cut down on our work considerably.
What is Corel Rave?
We were thinking of using Monkey Funk and Photoshop to put it together.
Anywho, that might all change by the time we get more animation done.

I suppose they won't be using them, and in my opinion, the characters they're using are better than all of those! ^^ I especially like Jack Huskie and your new characters, though I haven't seen the other two. Even though I thought a Balto 4 was a terrible idea, I love this idea! I can tell that this will be something to remember, like, an epic moment for all Balto fans out there! ^^

We cannot have all those characters in here Doby we simply do not have the man power, time or ablity to put each character in. We have a limted number of artists, resources, and I'm funding the project basically with the money out of my pocket. This is costing me some money, I am buying stuff to help this project. I mean I would love to put all these characters in there but simply it's sadly not possible. I am giving everyone the most I can give with me the team we have put together.
And again I want to thank you for the helpful animation tips. ^^

One question I had is : are swf (Flash) animations accurate for this kind of thing? I mean, yes flash animations are very small in size, but I've noticed that when there is a lot of details, flash animations slow down a lot or get choppy. (and I don't think I have a slow computer) Maybe making a "video" version as well? (compressed with DivX for example)
But well, I suppose it's not the most important for now.

Since it is animated, the 'jumps' between frames will not be as noticeable as live film productions *usually* > Corel R.A.V.E. 3 is just another movie maker (except a step higher up than Flash MX...) example . The reason I use RAVE is that it isn't mainly based for Flash, but also for editing movies (like crappy Windows Movie Maker) and that it works good with AutoDesk 3Ds Max 8 with my 3D effects. (BTW: that was the very first thing I made on that program a few months ago...lol) >Photoshop won't be too bad of a program to use (however, I don't use it- I use Corel PhotoPAINT 12 and Fireworks MX 2004 so I don't know what is on Photoshop) steetboris wrote: One question I had is : are swf (Flash) animations accurate for this kind of thing? Not all flashes are choppy or distorted. Most are just set at the default framerate of 12fps and usually the keyframes are sloppy and are scattered everywhere. For example: example here is a very detailed flash movie that had taken about a year to complete. The Flash's quality depends on what artist produces it- either it will be good, average, or sloppy (like most are anyways).

Yes, it's true, that one is one of the smoothest flash animation I've ever seen. But well, it's not full screen either.
Talking about fan projects, I also have one thing in mind, that may be very long to make but also very interesting...But considering that it's only an idea for now, I probably won't tell more

We won't be using Flash unless it's just to convert the movie file so it loads faster on slower connections. One of the main reasons is all of us are more familiar with Photoshop and there are more options than there are with Flash.
