"Not sure yet. If you're lying, then yeah, if not..depends on the mood I'm in." Ian said gruffly, taking a large bite out of his bread.

"How up lifting," Kat grumbled, ripping her piece into smaller pieces and eating to slowly.

Ian eyed the girl carefully, before finishing off his bread. He kay back in the grass and watches the sky peacefully, letting his mind wander.

Kat looked at Ian carefully, seeing as he'd escaped into his head, "Where do you go? When you...Aren't...Present in your mind?" Kat asked.

"Go over battle plans an such." Remember easier times when I lived with my little brother and didnt have a care in the world. Ian thought as he answered with a lie, his gaze still fixed on the near-perfectly blue sky.

"Do you even have feelings? Is that, like all you think about? Jeeze, you're such a boring person." Kat growled, snorting but not realizing her insult. She didn't know how to be very social and polite.

Ian grunted, he hated opening up to people, it showed them his weaknesses..but Kat wasn't a threat at all. Right?
"I do have emotions, I just choose...not to show them." He replied surprisingly weakly. "And in case you're wondering, on days like this I think of my brother."

"You really miss him...huh?" Kat said softly, she was an open book, to anyone but guards. She didn't understand the point of hiding feelings, and not sharing emotions. She could express them easily, too.

Ian nodded solemnly, looking down at the grass.
"Yeah.."

"It's okay to miss someone, you know." Kat explained weakly, trying to make him feel better. Why did she care so much?

"Not in this case, Kat." Ian said grumpily, laying completely back down on his back.

Kat lay down also, but her face grew puzzled, "And why not?" She said, her voice confused.

"Arthur's been dead for three years." Ian replied softly, clenching his fists so tight his knuckles became white. Why was he teling her all of this?

Kat took this lightly, her family had been dead longer, but she never really liked them all that much.
"How did he die?" She asked.

Ian didn't respond, for he was already standing up stiffly, clearly agitated. He moved to his horse and shot Kat a glare, before moutning the animal.
"come on. Lets go."
