Rango sighed as he watched her leave, then turned to go back to his forest.

the next day...

Sorren woke earlier the next morning, to the sound of humans walking down the street casually. She yawned, and stretched then made her way out of the alley she called her home and onto the street.

Rango stretched and blinked as the sun rose slightly above the treetops. He stepped up and yawned, walking over to the river. He lapped up some water, and began trotting towards town.

Sorren greeted any dog she passed politely as she trotted down the street casually. She avoided the sled teams and made her way to the edge of town.

Rango plotted down the road and turned into Sorren/s alleyway.
"huh..where is she?" He said to himself, turning back the other way.

Sorren stood at the edge of town, facing the forest. She perked her ears at the distant howling of wolves. She rose her snout to the air and howled, harmonizing with the wolves from far off, as her instinct drove her to.

The wolves howled back, a yet it was a weak song, one of sorrow. Suddenly, a strong thriving voice echoed joining in the song. It was powerful and deep, and close. Rango heard, and trotted downtown, further from Sorren. The wolf took a cold shaky breath, and howled again, his cry for someone to hold him as his mother and sister had. He winced as the other wolves howled behind him, as he sat lonely on the river's edge.

Sorren's ears perked as she lowered he snout to listen to the howl. She recognized the sad tones from her own pack when her father had passed away. She raised her snout again, and harmonized a light and reassuring tune.

The wolf stood, hearing Sorren's beautiful call. He lifted his muzzle into the air and let out a peircing howl, that was sorrowful, hopeful and matching her beautiful tone. He stood, and padded slowly down to the town, staying in the brush, seeing Sorren for the first time.

Sorren let her call drift for a few seconds more before lowering her muzzle and staring out into the woods dreamily. She couldn't help but think about her life before she came into the town.

The wolf took a deep breath, and appeared out of the bushes. He smiled, and let out a shaky breath. She was an angel, he thought. She'd make a good friend... Too bad im not like her.
"Hello. My name is Logan." he smiled, a wicked smile (so he was told).

Sorren turned to look at the wolf as he approached. She nodded politely.
"Hello Logan," she smiled. "It's a pleasure to meet you. I'm Sorren."

Logan padded over, looking her over. He smiled, and cocked his head.
"You have a beautiful voice then Sorren... Not all wolf i see?" He asked, flashing another smile.

Sorren flicked her tail.
"Thank you, but no. Not all wolf. My mother was a dog. But i followed my father's heritage." she explained.

"Well... That makes you even more unique..." He said, stopping himself short as Rango padded over.
"Sorren there you are i've been looking for you all morninggg.... Whose this?" he asked, as he saw Logan.
"Im Logan." Logan answered for him, standing at least a foot above Rango.
