Christmas shrugged off the feeling of weird and carried on. She had walked through this forest so many times she knew every hanging branch or upturned root. She led him a little way before making a sharp right and going through some bushes. One the other side of teh bushes was a clearing. It had a tree in the middle that was bigger than a house and very very old. One of teh branches where so low down, you could go and sit on it. On teh other side of teh tree was a tyre swing. The sun filtered through teh leaves leaving patches of sunlight.

Tunny smiled lightly "nice" he said.

"Took me three years to find this place. I sometimes even sleep here on dry warm nights." Christmas said, feeling right at home. She walked over to tyeh low branch. " one minute." she said, before she started to climb teh tree.

Tunny blinked and looked up "Heh, I sleep out whatever sort of night it is" he said "sometimes I don't have any choice..."

Chrsitmas was nearly at teh top of the tree. "What did you say?" she called down, still climbing.

tunny shrugged "Can you keep a secret?"

"of course i can..." called Christmas down. "In a minute." she said. She had climbed to the top of the tree and was looking in a nest there. "Aww...." she said, She picked up one of teh tiny birds. The mother bird let her because she had seen the human many times before and knew her tpo be gently. Christmasd carried teh little bird down with her and showed Tunny. "I slept here for a week waiting for these to hatch." she told him.

Tunny smiled then sighed "Well, Back in Chicago I was a bit off the rails" he said "I..."

"ooohhh....a bad boy, i like it." she said winking at him. She climbed teh tree again and put the bird back. When she was back down, she sat on teh low branch and gestured for Tunny to sit with her.

Tunny sat next to her "Chris I-I've never told anyone thi but...I have a drug problem" He said, not looking at her. "I don't know what i wa thinking at first but I can't stop. I haven't told my parents or Zach or anyone becaue I thought they'd abandon me...i just get the feeling you won't"

Christmas gave him a sypmathetic look and gave him a hug. "You'll get over it." she asid over his shoudler. "And if you dont, i'll lock you in a cupboard andf feed you cheese pizza and chips for five years and only allow you to drink cholate milkshake." she promised.

Tunnyn laughed, but now it sounded strained "that' good to say, but its not gonna help" he sighed "what should I do chris?"

Christmas put her chin on her hand and thought hard. Finnally she looked up."Well.." she said slowly," I used to know a friend who i have lost contact with, but she says the easyest way to get off drugs, because she tried many times in different ways, isto gat addicted to something else if you know what i mean. Keep your mind working on something. Like your school work, or getting your self fit or something like that. Something that occupies your mind so much that you wont have time to think of your cravings. Of course you'll still have them, but not as often." she said. It had been a while since she and Natalie had talked, so she was trying to remember what had been said.

Helooked at her "You serious?"

Christmas just looked at him.
