His wolf, now in control, raced after Fern's bus when it started moving but stay in the shadows until it reached Fern's stop. He was waiting on the driveway like a dog when the buses' doors opened up to let Fern out.

Fern stepped off the bus and immediately stopped in her tracks, staring at the wolf that looked vaguely familiar. She glanced back over her shoulder, but her bus had already pulled away. She started to walked to her front door, trying hard to ignore the wolf.

His wolf growled at her and started running after her, canines showing dangerously.

Fern ran for the house, slamming the door as soon as she was inside. She was breathing heavily from running and from being so afraid. That wolf had almost gotten to her. Flashbacks from the night of the attack were in her head, and she tried hard not to think about them.

His wolf banged on the door, almost breaking the door down with each hit, until he got bored and went to a open window that was beside the door and growled at Fern through it, sticking it's head in, and tried to crawl through it.

Fern ran up the stairs that were by the front door, shutting and locking her door behind her. As quickly as she could, she pushed her dresser in front of her door.

His wolf stopped scaring Fern and ran away. Cody thought angrily Why did you have to do that? She might have petted us if you didn't do anything. His wolf growled and thought angrily Yeah Right!!!!!!! You're an idiot!!!!!! She'll never like us so why even try!!!!!!!!!!!! Cody sighed and thought sadly Because I've never felt this connection with any other girl before and I want to test it out. See what it is all about. His wolf whimpered and thought sadly I....I know. She's our destined mate but she'll never allow us to BECOME mates though.

Fern realized that the growling and clawing and stopped, and looked at the window to see the wolf running away. She sighed in relief and sunk to the floor. burrying her head in her hands.

Tommy walked into the house ten minutes later and said "I'm home sis. Where are you? I have something for you."

Fern quickly pushed her dresser back where it belonged and ran downstairs to met her brother. "Hey, Tommy. What's up?" she asked, trying to seem as normal as possible.

Tommy smiled at Fern and said "I'm good. How've you been? I've been really worried about you since the attack." He took out a box from his pocket that held a necklace in it and handed it to Fern. He said brotherly "Open. I want to see if you like it."

"I'm fine," Fern said with a tad bit of annoyment in her voice. She was a little tired of people thinking that she couldn't get through this. She took the box from her brother, looking at him with one eyebrow cocked at him. "Now why would you be getting me a present?" she asked as she opened it.

Tommy smiled at his sister and said "For one everyone's worrying about you and you hate being looked down upon. The second reason is because you're my little sis."

Fern rolled her eyes at Tommy's second reason. She gasped as she saw the necklace insdie the box. "Oh, wow, it's gorgeous!"

Tommy smiled at Fern and said "Try it on. I want to see it on you."
