Sam blushed and looked away from his grey eyes. " could you let go of my hand? my fingers have gone purple."

"Oh,Sorry" said Dante Blushing, he hadnt even realised he was holding onto her so tightly

feeling awkward she pulled open the door and stepped inside. "Good after noon Mrs McKenzie" she said, and she went and sat at the back as usual.

"Good afternoon Sam." Said Mrs McKenzie." You must be Dante. Sit were you please, it doesn't bother me, as long as you work!" Said Mrs McKenzie, smiling at him.

Dante smiled and sat in the back corner next to the window. He brightened up when he realised tehy were doing his faivorite part of GCSE maths and listened for once.

Sam felt unhappy. Dante had decided not ot sit next to her. she felt like crying. He doesn't like me, it turns out she thought. She felt her heart break. I wont be talking to him after lesson. half an hour later the bell went for split lunch. Sam got up, collected all her things and left without a second glance at Dante.

Dante slung his rucksack over his shoulder and sauntered into the courtyard, then groaned when he saw the smae yr 11 he'd met earlier "Great, first day at school and Im gonna end up having a fight with possibly the biggest guy ins chool" he mutterd to himself

Sam looked round at the last minute and saw dante standing face to face with tom. "great. i've to watch this" said sam. she went over and stood at the front of the already forming circle.

Dante clenched his fists "I dont want to hurt you,back off" he said simply

" who said anything about you hurting me?" asked tom. "that's never gonna happen, 4 against 1 now is it? you'd atlest need another friend to help you out. I know. you can call a friend. if this chosen friend refuses, you have to do it on your own, if they except you'll have a friend with you to help. ok?"

Dante Took a step back "I alredy sia di dont want to fight anyone" said Dant 2Besides, I could take you on alone"

" you might be able to take me, if i didn't try. but aginst four? not gonna happen. now pick your friend, cos no matter what, your going to fight. but its only fair to give you a chance to call a friend to help.and i like to be fair, now pick a friend."tom said, with a meaning behind it. he doesn't have a choice, he has to choose a friend.

"thats great" said Dante "Just a LIL bit of advice if your cornering someone" he said "Never,ever,ever,EVER back them against a door" he said and Turned round opened the door and slamme dirt behind him in toms face.

nothing happened for a second then everything happened at once. Sam burst out laughing with the rest of the crowd and the four boys that had just been cornering Dante went red with, not embarrassment, but rage. no one had ever managed to get out of a fight with them before, but to do that and to cover them all in mud, priceless. Sam was about to follow Dante when she thought better of it. She wasn't his friend, remember, she scolded herself. she went in the oppisite direction and went into diners. She went and joined the cue for dinner.

Susie watched Dante throw mud into toms face. So heroic, she thought, dazed. She followed after Dante after she was sure Samantha wouldn't. " Hey, Dante! that was so cool!" She gushed when she had caught up with him. "Hey me and the gang are going to the concert at the hall this weekend end. Do you wanna come?" susie emphasised on the you.

Dante finnally looked at her, he glanced back for Sam, then remembered she wasnt his friend anymore. He leaned in close to susie, so that their faces were almost touching "Susie, Tell me the truth, DO you like me?" he said. He felt like the deseted corridor was the easiest place to pull this off.
