"I thought you were an intruder or something" replied Charlie breathing heavily. "I let you win that one. Oh by the way my name is Charlie, Charlie B. Barkin that is, and you are?" asked Charlie realizing this dog was not the enemy but was there to befriend Charlie.

(Is Charlie talking to Nika?)
Nika smiled and giggled at the little puppy, she missed when she looked so cute and innocent."Hi little guy, whats your name?" She wasn't good when it came to talking to pups, but she tried.

"My name's Lucky...But I don't know why my mother called me that, because I'm not very lucky. You see, when I was a bit younger than I am now, my mother, my sibblings and I were taken to the pound. All of my brothers and sisters were adopted, but I wasn't. Later on my mother was put to sleep, and I was next. I escaped, but I've been living on the streets for four months. I'm seven months old now." Explained Lucky.

Nika gasped quietly at the pup's heart wrenching story "Oh, but you are lucky, you are alive and well and your mother looks over you.." She explained, licking the top of the pup's ear for comfort."You wanna run with me?" She knew the pup probally didn't trust her that much but she couldn't let him run the streets alone."I know how hard it is being a pup on your own and it was lonley, and dangerous." She remembered many encounters with blood thirsty dogs and evil humans who wanted to kill her, the streets were a dangerous place to live alone, even as a adult.

"Sure!" He replied, his tail wagged furiously as he let out a puppy yip. He had never been treated with such kindness ever since his mother died. He sat at Nika's feet and nuzzled his head against her leg like a puppy would with their mother. "You'll be just like mom." He said in a soft voice. The ebony coloured border collie/coonhound smiled the biggest smile he had in a while.

Nika smiled sweetly, a warm feeling rushed through her.She placed her paw around his back, pulling him a little closer to her.She felt already like she was his mother "I won't let anything hurt you." She whispered as she remembered they were infront of a dog's house "Lets check this place out Lucky, they might even be friendly." She smiled at the thought, she female was only 1 and a half but she wanted to take the responsablity for the pup.She barked loudly at the door, hoping anyone in the house would hear it.

"Hope you don't mind my crashing the party, but me an Barkin have some unfinished business to take care of, outside. I'll deal with you later pup, so watch your tail," Ace grabbed Charlie by his collar and dragged him to the back.
"No one double crosses me and gets away with it," he thought, " I hope this mutt can fight cuz it'll take a miracle to save him," he growled at Charlie once more.

Zero could hear all going on through his door and went back out, watching Charlie being dragged off. He followed, curious.

"Help meeee!" he screams from the other room. All you can hear is the occasional "oof" or thud.
"Please, please, please stop, I thought you were someone else. Thought you were a burgalar or something like that. I am really sorry, it won't happen again." He pleeded hoping the dog would stop.

(They are at the door, not inside.)
Nika smiled unsurley at the small dog, he wouldn't be too much harm."I'm Nika, and this is Lucky, we are looking for well," She looked around and back at him "A home." Her voice was serious and unsure, she wondered how much of a weirdo she looked like. Her ears twitched "is someone hurt in there?I hear thuds somewhere.." She looked around as another very faint thud was heard.

Nika titled her head in confusion "Okay, well if you need me I'm here." She looked back at Itchy "I know he said we could come in, but it won't feel right if you don't say we can." She wanted to know for a fact that her and Lucky were welcomed in this new place.

"Yes, you are welcome here" replied Itchy smiling at the two. "What room do ya want?" he asked pointing to all of the open rooms in the building.
