"All right" Blaze said and nodded, then started sniffing the air. Then, after a while he finally got a scent of Balto, and perked his ears up.
"Guys, I think he went this way!" he barked, then dashed off to the direction he scented.

Dusty,and Jenna stood there gawking at each other,then replied to each other,"For a little pup,he's awfully brave.

Blaze ran and ran, he kept following Balto's scent. His paws were getting tired, but he didn't care. He was so determined to find his friend, that he didn't care how tired he was. At the same time a small change was starting to happen in Blaze...His legs had become a little stronger, his back was also a little stronger than it used to be, and he didn't feel so frightened anymore. Maybe, just maybe, Blaze had started to grow up...

While they were following Blaze,Dusty and Jenna panted very heavily,while they were determined to keep up with him.

Blaze kept running, but suddenly he had to stop, because he had arrived to an edge, which had a long drop down. At that moment he also realized that he had lost Balto's scent.
"Oh no..." he thought, and looked down from the edge. For a moment he had a horrible picture in his mind, but then he realized that Balto wouldn't be so stupid that he would jump. So Blaze lifted his head up, and started sniffing the air again.

When Dusty,and Jenna reached where Blaze was,they continued to pant heavily,but stopped after a few moments,then began to follow Blaze again.

Blaze stopped, so Dusty and Jenna could reach him.
"Guys, I lost Balto's scent" he panted desperatly, but now Jenna and Dusty could clearly hear that voice had changed...he now sounded more like an adult.

They both looked at Blaze in total shock,"Blaze?,you're starting to sound just like us,They both replied with a slight chuckle.

Blaze looked at Jenna and Dusty with bit of a surprised look on his face.
"I am?" he asked, then turned to look into a small pool to see his reflection. Then he realized as well that he HAD started to change...change into a grown up wolf.

What Blaze had told them,made Dusty,and Jenna look at Blaze in absolute horror,then they turned ,and ran off,soon to find themselves stuck,and sinking fast,"Oh no",they both exclaimed,then shouted out BLAZE,help us!

Blaze wondered why Jenna and Dusty had ran away from him, but as he heard them shouting for help, he immidietaly dashed off to help them. As he got there, he saw them sinking fast into quick sand. Blaze didn't waste a second, he grabbed Jenna from her bandanna and pulled her out, then grabbed Dusty from her neck and pulled her out as well. Then, he asked:
"What was that? Why did d you run away from me?"

"Of course not! You're my friends, I would never hurt you" he said and gave them both a quick licks on their cheacks.

Dusty,and Jenna felt their faces turn red with embarrassment,then they returned Blaze's lick,by giving him one apiece on his cheek.

Blaze smiled at them, but before he could reply anything, Balto jumped from behind a bush, and he looked really mad...as if he wasn't that same ol' Balto anymore.
"Balto! What..w-where have you been??" Blaze shouted at him, but Balto didn't answer...He just growled at him very madly, and his eyes seemed to be like flaming.
"Balto...?" Blaze whispered, but just then Balto attacked, and stroke his teeth into his throat.
