Ahmm... so, what do you want to tell us by that?

---

So... to refine my statement a bit:
  • Scar kills Mufasa -> a male takes over the pride
  • Scar tries to kill Simba -> the typical infanticide
  • The lionesses do hunt -> which is the common job for them in reality
  • The "King" (hence, Mufasa, Scar*, Simba) protects the pride -> which is the job of alpha males in reality [Scar did do a pretty bad job about it, I know]
  • Mufasa accepts Scar in his pride, and no other male is ever seen -> they have a male-coalition in the pride, which exists in reality, and means that Nala either has to be fathered by Mufasa or Scar
  • While it seems to be a bit odd in context with human society, both young males (Simba and Kovu) get driven out of their pride. Which again would be congruent with reality (althoug Simba was by far too young for it)
  • Ecological cycles exist in the movies as well. Like the great hymn of "the circle of life", or the pride lands burning down (under Scars dictatorship) and regrowing to its full beauty and health after rainfall (when Simba defeats Scar)

I could list even more, but that's the most significant. However... my point is: in TLK you'll find by far more truth and reality than one might believe - which is in fact WHY I love the first two movies so much.

So... why not assume that Nala has to be related to Simba? Or Kovu to Kiara? I believe they never gave us an answer on it because it's hardly imaginable for the general audience how lions live. We can't really get it in context with our own lifestyle, and since the animals got human characteristics in the film - it is a conflict.

Well, the only thing we do know 100% is that Scar is NOT Kovu's father. He said so right in the movie as Kiara and he were looking at the stars. I think it's to signaify the evil that Ziara was trying to put into him. And how he was 'cosen to follow in Scar's paw prints'.

That indeed is true. We also don't know what happened in the Outlands, where other males could be lurking around.

If Nala was Scar's daughter, then why did he try to have her killed along with Simba, before he successfully killed Mufasa(his brother)and unsuccessfully kill Simba(his only nephew).

Nope, he didn't try to kill her. His plans were to send Simba to the Elephant Graveyard to get killed by the hyenas. Scar never knew/planned that Nala would be with him  Simba just asked Nala to come

Which would exclude Scar as father then, right? So there's only Mufasa left.

To SimbasGuard:When Mufasa instructs Zazu to take Nala home,it looks like he wants to scold her, because it looks to me like he's looking back at her.

SimbasGuard wrote:
If the Pride Lands had generations of inbreeding I thik Simba and Nala would have been very weak and sick cubs.

Which is something nobody denies. Yet, if you'd investigate the genetic material of real lion prides, then you'd find out that many individuals share the same father. And it isn't impossible that a young male returns to its pride as new ruler.

What's even worse for an entire lion pride, that's the fact that it only has 2 cubs, isn't it?

SimbasGuard wrote:
Another thing is When Mufasa rescues Simba And Nala from The Hyenas He tells Zazu to take Nala home, And That He has to teach His Son a lesson. If Mufasa was Nala's Father Why would He not punish Her as well?

While that is a good point, it doesn't necessarily mean that Mufasa interpretates Nala as successor. As far as we see it in the movie, Sarabi, Mufasa and Simba are the royal family - whereas Sarafina and Nala seem to be regular members of the pride (which relates to said conflict between lion and human lifestyle).

SimbasGuard wrote:
Also when Nala is trying to convince Simba to return to The Pride Lands Simba sayes to Nala "You're starting to sound like My Father".

Which would again go for Scar, wouldn't it? Even more, as Scar's statement of "presenting the both cubs to the hyenas" doesn't necessarily relate to an infanticide, as that would happen after taking over the pride.

SimbasGuard wrote:
If reality comes in to play as much as You say(Although You made some very good points)Scar would not have wanted to Kill Mufasa because in A Pride all Ruling Males are King(So To speak). Scar would not have wanted to Kill Simba because in a Prde all Males think of all Cubs as Their Sons and Daughters.

Actually no - a lion male always thinks about his own offspring and supply of food -> hence, they want hunters and mating partners. The infanticide serves them to take influence on the reproductivity cycle of females. Even females prove to be pretty manipulative against other lionesses, which is why the mothers, after they gave birth, wait until their cubs are invulnerable enough before they return to the pride.

Also - a coalition doesn't necessarily mean that an accepted male wouldn't ever go against the absolute ruler, who exists even in a coalition.

SimbasGuard wrote:
Simba would not be Heir to the Throne because Lions do not have the right of ascension. The Loin King Very closely mirrors reality in alot of ways, But There are many ways that It dose not.

That indeed is true, but falls all under my statement that we're being in a conflict between human and lion lifestyle. That's exactly why there are so many questions staying unanswered by the creators of the film.

actually...he looks at Simba

I agree 100% with SimbasGuard. All those points show that Mufasa couldn't possibly be Nala's dad.

While we are at it... as you can imagine, that debate occupies the entire TLK online-community for several years already. From my more active time, we came to these theories:

Who's Nala's Father?
