Yep. Recently, I've become a lot more scared of spiders. I don't know why... I just get butterflies when I see them. But I wouldn't want to kill one.

I'm ok with craneflies/daddy-long-legs. They're cool.

Hornets rarely use their stings but they can have a very nasty one. One of my friend's sisters got stung by one and she thought one of her friends had nipped her!

What some people do when they get stung by a wasp, bee or hornet is they get the poison by sucking it out (to stop if from getting infected) and pouring vinegar onto it. Flying ants are also quite frightening, they have a bad attitude and hover over you just asking to get a swipe with the odd book! That's what wasps do, they fly around your legs just looking for a good excuse to sting you to heck! Get the bug spray onto them but mess and you're more stung then Sting! Best just leave the little fellas alone but I consider wasps more frightening then bees because they are harder to avoid and bees are very useful and are very intelligent creatures.

Well, you want to talk painful stings! The bullet ant of Central America, a large species, has a sting which is said to be SO painful, it feels like being struck by a bullet! (Whatever THAT feels like... :? )

Or there are the really aggressive bulldog ants...

Or army ants and their close relatives...which will swarm and eat ANYTHING in their path. I've heard an African version of them will even swarm over and kill sleeping humans. UGH. Between all the things that can kill you (fast and painfully!) in Africa and Australia (though they are two beautiful places!), it's a wonder anyone still lives there!

I think that's why they call it a bullet ant.

I'm glad I live in nature-sane Britain. Though wolves have started appearing again and I'm NOT joking!
