You're right, TikTac,
personal writing shouldn't have 'content rules,' but when you decide to put it up on a website that's more geared toward kids there will be things that just aren't allowed.
And by the way, Olvia's mum has every right to feel that way. What started out kid-friendly when I arrived has since evolved, shall we say, into a more teen-friendly site.
Thankfully, there's no way to hide 'suggestive' art, but fanfics should show some restraint. Now, I'm not saying that we should all write happy, fairy-tale stories about Balto and wolves, but for pity's sake can we give the incest and the gayness a rest?

No one says you can't have your entertainment and enjoy it. People have that right. But either this site is maintained by HYPOCRITES (and I didn't mean that as an attack on Steet, but rather to emphasize my point, and how people with any modicum of intelligence AND morality WILL see this), or it is a site for people who pander in base entertainment. You've made your point well, BaltoSeppala. I know you're concerned about the growing number of 'questionable' fics on the site. I am too. But I must say that there
are fics that don't 'pander in base entertainment.' There
are writers who prefer to stay away from these topics like you do.

And I really must object to your claim that your freedom is being taken away.
This is a site run by a webmaster, steet, and
he decides what can and can't come on this site. He then tells the mods, and they do their best to carry it out.
Do you realize how many incest/gay fics are either on the site or being written in the database?
In essence, the writers only have freedom because steet and/or the mods
allowed their fics onto the site.

I agree totaly with TikTac. Half of my writting comes form my feelings and being told I couldn't write like that is wrong. Acculy, it's part of the first amendment that we can write however we want.
The U.S. Constitution also guarantees individuals and groups the right to establish private clubs and organizations, with their own rules. However, this is not simply a U.S. forum. It is a WORLD forum, started by someone who lives in France. Citing the U.S. Constitution might be admirable, but it is irrelevant to those who do not live in the U.S.
You make a good point, this is a world forum, and the US laws may or may not affect the users of this site.

No one is being persecuted, but if you'd us like to start, we can.
And it's not just 'a few people,' TikTac. There are many who disagree with these types of stories, including myself.
Now, since I'm a fanfiction mod, I feel you expect some sort of statement out of me, so here:
The statements I orriginally made on the content of fanfics on this site were never meant to be rules, and should only be used as guidlines along with one's own common sense.
I try to be fair by letting people of all writing backgrounds, styles, and level get onto this site, but there are some who seem to be abusing this privelage.
Should conditions not improve, there may come a day when there
are rules that govern absolutely what may and may not enter this site. We the mods and steet are trying to be considerate and understanding toward all manner of stories, but we do not take kindly to those who abuse the privelage of posting on these forums and on this site.
Read the guidlines, use good judgement, and be wary that the privelage to post nearly whatever you want is only just that: a privelage.
