Well, yet again we have another "animals vs. the humans" in CGI animation . . . .

I think it certainly has the cartoony look down pat, but the jokes (from what I've heard) make it seem stupid and dumbed-down for little kids and tweens.

(And if I hear another "nut" joke that speaks to a squirrel or chipmunk again . . . it's just getting old.)

I'm not sure if it's really going to be good or not, but I think I'll stick with the Pixar films, thanks.

I watched it, and definitely worth the money! Really funny, and - like everyone else said - really cute!

However, whenever I think of Elliott and Boog, know I think of them as 'Smelliott' and 'Booger'.

I'm not finding this movie at all interesting. The animation just looks really bad and I don't find the jokes to be at all funny. Something I'd rather watch on TV so I don't waste eight dollars and one-two hours of my life.

No offence, but I think you have to be SERIOUSLY a kid at heart to love these kinds of films...
I've always been a lil kid inside so I'm easily amused at lil movies like this one...hehe! :D

You guys are so lucky. I want to see that movie soooo badly! And cgi doesn't bother me at all. It's really the plot and story that matters. And from what I've seen on TV and the internet, it seems like a really good movie. I can't wait 'till I go watch it in the theaters!

Well, I got a chance to see Open Season last night (for a dollar) and it . . . surprised me.

It was actually quite entertaining! The CGI animation was nicely done (especially the backgrounds! They were so picturesque, like a painting almost!), and the characters looked so . . . real (which is rather weird-sounding, I know. They had texture and fur and . . . well, it looked like you could just grab it and it would feel soft! Amazing . . .)!

The story, yes, was quite predictable (with the whole "tame animal thrown into life in the wild" theme), but the journey of these two different friends (Boog the bear and Elliot the deer) that come together to save their skins was enjoyable and comedic. It seemed like time flew by (although the film was over an hour and a half long).

In the end, it was a great movie. Has it been done before? Of course. Just not as good as this!
