I've only seen Ginga Densetsu Weed, but I want to see Wolf's Rain too. Not that I haven't tried, but it's too hard to find it on Youtube. I try searching for Wolf's Rain, and I get 100+ pages of music videos and joke dubs, quite frustrating really, and it keeps me from being able to find it, let alone watch it properly.

myFork wrote: Wolf's Rain, definitely. And I'm going to go into a nice rant to tell you why: First off, I'm not saying I don't like Weed. It's good ( though Gin is better ), but Wolfs Rain holds a place in my heart right next to Balto that I know for a fact Weed will never accomplish. I used to not like anime, as a rule, though after hearing such great stuff about this series ( from the Balto fanbase, no less ) I decided to watch it. I was stunned. The animation is incredible, and the wolves are perhaps the most realistic I've ever seen in animation. The music is incredible and utterly unforgettable, and the characters are engaging, and well fleshed out. But that's not what really gripped me in the end about Wolfs Rain. Under the surface, WR is not your conventional anime. It's very heartfelt, and very intellectual. WR is not so much centered on the action as it is on the story and emotional aspect. This series is undoubtedly haunting ( for those who really get it ). Not to mention the saddest episode sent me into a spiraling depression for a week ( ). The overall poignancy and intelligence of the series really stuck with me. It's got none of the goofy, in-yo-face facial expressions, no jokes ( the real humor (( mostly supplied by Hige )) is charm ), nothing that could really bring it down, at least from where I stand. The show has very strong emotion, a powerful story and excellent meaning. The show is, simply put, beautiful. There's hardly a night I don't go to bed chuckling at something Hige did, or wondering how they had the time to put such exquisite details into the animation/backgrounds, or sniffling at something particularly sad that happened, or mulling over some wisdom of Kiba's. It's got real staying power, and for a television series to have that is very rare, and very refreshing. So, long post short, it may look like crap, but once you really look into it, few things can really compare. ( ... Man, where's a soapbox smiley when I need it? )
When I watched WR, Hige put in humor, but not in a TON of eps from what I remember. WR was more serious and I found little humor in here. It was a little too depressing (Yes, GNG is better than GDW). I like GDW because it's not as serious and sad. There's more humor (mostly by GB, a little part when Ben somes in, and when they're in the spring it's funny ) I found very little of that in Wolfs Rain, so that's why I hate it. Plus it looks too real, and I've read that more realistic looking cartoons get worse ratings. I think GDW (and GNG) are better than WR

Some might be out of order or missing so if you cant find one what you have to do is type in 'Wolf's Rain Episode' then whatever episode your looking for. Then it will only come up with that episode and no music vids or things like that

Wolf's rain is not crap at all. ^^
Kiba - Wolf's Rain
Toboe - Wolf's Rain
Wolf's rain is about wolves. ^_^ And they look just like wolves, too.
It has much violence, and the ending of it has ALOT of violence (Wolves fighting, and tons of blood.) Also, better animation. ^^ ..
Off topic:
But go check out The plague dogs if you don't like wolf's rain. I love The plague dogs, but it's a very dark movie. I heared it haunting someone in their childhood and someone crying theirself to sleep for weeks. Also, someone also said they almost cried just watching a movie preview of it. o_o Not that I know that is all true or so, but that's what the people that seen it said. Someone also said "I saw this movie when I was about 6 years old and it really disturbed me. Since then I haven't seen it again and I can't remember much but even this scene gives me the creeps. "
Hm, I only watched the movie preview and videos but it looks REALLY good. I think it would be better than wolf's rain. I take that back, the show looks pretty dark. o-o; Very dark.

Here's a little part of it. (It's not for kids, or so the people say that put that small video up there.) Eeek, be warned: When I watched that small part, I jumped and got alittle shocked. x-x Sorry for going off topic.
But anyways, I would like that err.. weed thingy or whatever show if the dogs looked more real, and they have LONG necks. x_X And it needs better animation. Other then that, it looks pretty good but I like Plague dogs and Wolf's rain better.

You make a good point about WR, but I still don't like WR. Too real-looking, and it goes over the violence level. Weed anomation looks more traditional, so that could be why it's really popular. Funny thing: In WR, they want to get to paradise right? In GDW, they want to get to Ohu's paradise for dogs. Kinda (KINDA) similar, and GDW was made before WR. I think Weed and Gin animation is fine. WR is better, but that's because it was made more recently than Weed.

I just saw Wolf's Rain episode 1 for the first time from that playlist that was posted, and it was pretty cool! I mean, I think that the animation was probably the best anime I think I've ever seen, and the storyline, even though I don't fully understand it, yet, is pretty good.
Here's what I can tell about the storyline so far:
Wolves seem to have been thought to be extinct for 200 or so years
The wolves in the show can turn to humans at will, somehow
There don't seem to be any forests left in the world
There is some empire that the second wolf you see, I forget his name, is leading a rebellion or something of the sort, against that empire.
Is there anything I'm missing?

I do like the Weed series, but I must say I like Wolf's Rain better. Weed, although it had ALOT of action and an interesting plotline, it was too repetitive for me...and Wolf's Rain had all that, but wasn't repetitive (even though I personally think the manga's style was more beautiful, it was too short) and searching for Paradise, using the power of illusion to disguise themselves (much like a cameleon's camoflaouge im guessing) a villan going crazy to find Paradise in order to bring his true love back to life...yes, that's very interesting to me. But no..Weed, basically someone basically fought and died and everyone cried and ran a long time afterwards was basically what went on every episode. But I must also state that I've only seen the series up to where Weed finds his real father. I have no opinion on the rest, so it sitll has a chance to make me change my mind about it LoL

Ginga Densetsu Weed for me, thanks.
I love Wolf's Rain, don't get me wrong. The animation is so pretty and clean, but then again. . . The show bores me. When I finish an episode, I'm not that eager to see the next one.
GDW has a lot of violence. And blood.
The end.
Okay, okay, to specify more. . . GDW made me cry about 4 times. Mind you, I don't do that whilst watching a TV show. GDW is packed with emotion; the show makes me laugh (GB!) and cry, which I hardly find that in Wolf's Rain.
I hate anime (except like. . . 3 shows.), but it was quite hard for me to hate GDW.

Swords of the Wolves wrote: I thought there was plenty of emotion in Wolf's Rain, I mean there was that one episode when they were on the island and they saw how the wolves there worked for humans, which they shouldn't be doing by their own rights, and there are a couple others, but I can't think of them right now.
Oh, sorry. I kind of. . . Said that wrongly.
What I meant to say was that it didn't give me a feel of sadness and/or happiness, Wolf's Rain. Then again, I didn't watch every single episode (because, well. . . I got bored with it.), so, uh. . . -Scampers away-
