Good idea Steet. I think it'll work out well. Now, I am going to go off and make life difficult for them by spam hunting. Cheers!

Best of luck for spam hunting and ruining their lives in a cold, depressing, good way which sounds fun for the people who hate spam in general.

That's something else that can be made like my idea for opening a movies topic but that sounds like a great idea.

Well there's no real link on the forums to do that, but you can just send me or the mods private message with the links to the messages.
(click on the little bone to the top left of a message to get the real address of the message itself)

Wish I knew that sooner... I sent you the thread and what number the post was, with the poster as well. *Sigh* Oh well. So are you going to implement the specificly global mod plan?

Congrats to Togo! I'm sure you'll do a fine job.
Coming from my experience moderating several other boards, I might make a few suggestions. Take them for what you will, as these have worked for me, but they might not work here.
1. Ideally, the moderators should work as a team. Having each other on a messenger like MSN or Yahoo would be ideal in circumstances where a mod is not sure of the appropriate action to take. He/she can consult the other mods, and they can come to an agreement.
2. A sub-forum only accessible by admins and mods would also help with communication on certain global issues throughout the board. (A spamming trend with a particular member, creation of a new sub-forum, etc.)
3. Threads that seem like they should be deleted can be moved to a part of the admin/mod sub-forum so that the other mods can be aware it was deleted and why.
steetboris wrote: In that case, each mod should just tell me which sections they would prefer to moderate, and then try to check all the messages regularly on this section. (but they will be able to moderate everwhere)
That sounds like a good idea, to eliminate the need of every mod reading every post. If the forum continues to take on new members and become more active the mods would probably burn out. I don't think I've seen forums where mods are assigned a section but still have global moderating abilities; that's a great idea! It should probably be made clear somewhere who is/are the moderator(s) for a specific forum so people know to whom they should report posts.
4. Rotating the mods' forum assignments occassionally would be good to keep the morale and interest level high.

Same thoughts over here for Togo.

It wouldn't be too hard to impliment. An argument against the idea would be that normal members couldn't see what forum issues the moderators are talking about. An argument for would be that the type of topics discussed in the moderators' forum would be of a private matter (like a member repeatedly breaking rules) and not appropriate for sharing with the forum for privacy reasons. If some of the mods don't have a messenger, then this might be a good alternative.
In some boards the moderator sub-forum is hidden to regular members, so I'm guessing there might be more of these than you or I realize.

A subforum is usualy for concentrated forums like multimedia or gaming and usualy it isnt very useful for fan forums.

Well, they can see each other of course, but I don't use messengers like this myself. So, if there's an important decision to be made, they can just report it to me first (if I'm here). But I will not blame them for doing an error if I'm not here. Quote: 2. Maybe...But for the moment, I don't feel we have got any big issue, nearly no one has been banned and deserved to be. But that can be an idea. Quote: 3. Threads that seem like they should be deleted can be moved to a part of the admin/mod sub-forum so that the other mods can be aware it was deleted and why.
Possible...I'm waiting for the others opinion. Quote: It should probably be made clear somewhere who is/are the moderator(s) for a specific forum so people know to whom they should report posts.
Well, I don't regularly visit ALL the forum myself...I nearly never read the roleplay threads (too long and I've never been interested in roleplay), I don't always go to the animals one either (don't know why in fact...).
So, each mod should tell me which sections he/she would want to check. (3 or 4)

(Although I'm not absolutely sure.) I use subforum for lack of a better word because the whole board itself is one "forum". Actual forums within forums don't seem to make much sense unless it's to organize RP's within a certain universe, etc. steetboris wrote: I would like to announce another new mod : Nick! Congratulations, Nick!
