Yes, it's sad but who knows.. I was like 7 or 6 when those dogs tried to attack me. Oddly, it happened one time .. Those other times I was around the shepherd, it was happy and wagging his tail and licking me, same with the chow chow. I still wonder why they attacked me.. =/ Those other times the dogs were fine with me, but yeah, that's life for you.. The bigger dog gets put down.

I have NOTHING against the breed. I love Pit Bulls too. I especially loved my Aunt's one, Diesel.. but that's another story.
It is the 'junky' owners that I am against.
The thing about putting a dog down I am not entirely disagreeing with. I mean, I know that it wasn't the dogs fault originally but, like with the dog that was killing the spaniel.. as mentioned in my first post.. I know that this was the human's fault and it is ALL their fault. It is too late for the dog. It's already been trained to kill so it doesn't have much of a life ahead of it. So.. really I agree with it being put to sleep.
However, if for example, the Pit Bull attacks a small child when the child was alone with the dog then I would not agree if the dog was put to sleep. It can't be done if there is no real proof. What if the child was teasing it with a toy? This is really a common thing these days...
I hate stereo-typing. ESPECIALLY stereo-typing dog breeds and wolves. German Shepherds, I trust. Believe me, they can be trained out of their aggression. And yet they still have a bad reputation, like Pit Bulls.

I wouldn't truly trust any dog that I don't know, even if I did pet a street pitbull with no owner but a plain red collar, I would trust no dog but my own. I don't even trust my brother's rottweiler since the dog has growled at me many times for no reason, also barked at me.

My dad has a really big house and he take pitties in that have been ex fighting dogs and he works with them for a very long time, eventually after a certain time limit the animal control come over to see how the dog is getting on and if its good enough to be rehomed, 9/10 times they are, but sometimes there is the odd one that can't be rehomed with other dogs so my dad keeps them with him if the animal control officer allows him, and oh yeah I would just like to say that the fighting other dogs part is not in there blood decended from other dogs, they were originally used for baiting bulls hense the name pitbull and thats how there jaws became stronger through generation, and they have no inbedded ppl aggression beacuse after the dogs had killed the bull or nowadays the other dog their owners have to go inbetween them and pull them apart without getting bitten so the dogs in early days were taught against bitting people and every time they did they were beaten untill they passed out so the words (pitbulls cant be trained against dog fighting) which I have heard alot by ppl in skool is a load of c**p,
the dogs weren't traind to be dog agressive in the first place so they can be trained out of it
and Starsky I agree with you on all most everything except the pitbull trying to kill the spaniel bit, O=I donnot think the pittie should have been put to sleep, the spaniel got another chance so I think the pitbull should have gotten one too!

Yeah, but apparently this particular dog has attacked other dogs in the same way too. For no apparent reason. It'd be different if it was the first time.
I was really worried for a dog called Murphy that is almost identical to Archie whom lives opposite where I walk Archie. On last year's Halloween some kids were messing about outside his house whilst I was out walking. The house-owner came out followed by Murphy who instantly went into defense for his owner and bit one of the kids on the arm. It wasn't a deep bite apparently but it did draw blood.
Of course, the kids said that he bit them for no reason so charges were pressed against the owner.. but fortunatly Murphy wasn't put to sleep. He's a really sweet dog.

OK pitt bulls are NOT bad dogs! and I know because where I live you can play with strays! I do it, in fact there was 1 dog Bruce, he was a pitt bull mastiff cross, a huge dog that used to live in my back yard. I played with him all the time and nothing happened to me!
The point is, no dog is bad unless you train it to be that way, pitt bulls are trained to be bad dogs, but any normal pitt bull is a loyal dog to his family, that is desperate to please the owner! You are no more at risk of being bitten by a pitt bull, then you are by a Chihuahua! So it really isn't the pitt bulls fault, the blame rests solely on the shoulders of his owner!

All most every 1 here likes pitbulls for the way they are, lovley, caring animals, not for what they can be trained to do....Why can't everyone like them for the resons we do, then there would be no ban against pitties and there would be less pitbull attacks, but then agin this world isn't purfect and its never gonna be with all them junkies and people like that

Will people PLEASE stop posting the same things over and over again.. basically, all in all, Pit Bulls are wrongly stereo-typed and are made mean by their owners.
Not ALL Pit Bulls are mean. But from what I can see, once they've been made aggresive from fighting they don't have much of an outlook for life so its best that they're put to sleep..
I only made this post for small opinions... not a war.

This is a dog that has been brutalised into a killing machine, could you tell me this is a dangerous dog? I'am not trying to start a fight I'am just trying to make a point that pitbulls dont need training to stop them from fighting its training that makes them in to fighters, by beating and tourtureing them that make them into killing machines just for a little bit of cash! yes they are born with the equipment to be a killer, but they have brains too and most of them are the lovliest pets in the world, I my self have been brought up with pitties since I was 3 months old, I am now 13, and I think I now quite a lot about the Pitbull terrier.
Oh, so I'm guessing it's Human's fault that T-Rex's had killing instincts? Rofl.

Cool!!! My name's Daisy
Well, I've actually never met a Pittbull in real life, so I don't know what they're like. But, I have seen this horrible vid on YouTube, showing several Pittbulls that had been abused, neglected or killed by their owners. I'll put it up for educational purposes only

ok, I'm gonna warm you all now, it is incredibly disturbing, especially for animal lovers. It is a disgusting and horrific film. But it shows you how Pitbulls are being treated
