Something I feel I'd enjoy watching. I wouldn't go see it in a theatre(I can't stand going there), but it's something I'd probably pick up once it's on DVD.

Barnyard . . . *sigh* Yet other 3-D animated movie about the antics of animals when humans aren't watching. First Madagascar, then The Wild, and Over the Hedge . . . .and now this? omg.

Is it just me, or is this genre of animated movie overdone? I mean, you know what animals will do when no one's looking - they act like us humans, that's what! (duh?)

I haven't seen it, and I don't plan on it until it hits DVD. IMO, the cows look weird (since even the males have udders. Ew?), and the storyline seems stupid and predictable. Waste of space, if you ask me.

So much for originality.

Whoe...Juuchan you read my mind. That male cow utter thing, creepy. And cyotoes being the bad guys, another down for wild canines. That is the last thing we need. It just steams me up. Personally I liked over the hedge. It was pretty good. But this...uggh. Has anyone noticed the cows kinda look like preschool toy cows? Weird. I'm definatly not gonna watch this. Give me old classic Disney movies any day. I say 2/5 to this one. Blegh.

I've heard about the whole "coyotes being the bad guys" thing . . . but let's face it: it's true! In some farmlands, coyotes have been seen snatching chickens and other animals for food. They aren't doing it to be mean; they're doing it to live and survive, whether they're stealing it from the guys that moved onto their land or not. It's only a natural instinct!

I haven't seen Over the Hedge, but I've heard that it was funny. And the animation looks much better than this crap used for Barnyard. Perhaps the cows and the other animals need to return to their Lego-Duplo box where they belong, okay?

Heck, nothing beats the old Disney classics (AKA TLK and backward). Maybe except for Balto, but still Disney's classic films rock.

*Sigh* I went and saw it even though I said I wouldn't...Dag the coyote was the only good character in there. Some parts are really stupid, a few are funny, and some might even freak out 5 year olds! There's a death scene (A shocker, since I didn't expect anyone to die), and a cow comes to the farm and she is pregnant from another bull! (Another shocker). So there you have it. It's not much of a baby movie...is it? It should have been rated PG...

Actually, it was rated PG, kimba.

I rented it the other night and watched it, hoping it would be as bad as predicted. But somehow, I was surprised.

With exception of the design of all cows having udders and most of the farm animals looking like Lego rejects, the story was rather touching. It was a nice example of a father-son relationship and about protecting what was most important. The film had its funny, entertaining parts (the hoedown and the other scenes with the animals' interactions with the humans, especially), its emotionally-powerful ones (death, birth, and the main climax . . . but I'll let you guys watch it to see what I mean), and more. Sure, it wasn't the best film in the world, but I liked it. Not enough to buy it, but it was okay.
