I'd heard rumors, but I didn't know Eragon was actually made into a movie until I saw the commercial. I'm glad they made it, though

Good movie in and of itself, but as an adaptation of what is, IMO, probably the only good book that's come out since 2003, this thing just completely bombed. I found the makeup and costume aspect of it particularly lacking, hell, the Urgals looked more like escapees from a leper colony than what they were described as in the book. The music is good, and Jeremy Irons is, well, Jeremy Irons, so it wasn't a total loss. Still, it branched too far from the book, it was rushed, it focused too much on special effects, and I was terribly disappointed. PS- But all in all, Murtagh is still frikkin awesome.
Heh...yes, I agree with you. Also, despite the mostly all-star cast, wh'd they put Ed Speelers as Eragon...ugh...he...just...ugh. Also, it was rushed way to far. I found myself not caring very much when *someone* died (in a completly different way then in the book, might I add), I found myself not caring because they hadn't allowed me to get used to the characters (the same goes for Roran, dissapearing 20 seconds into the movie...). Also, what's up with Arya and Eragon. Arya's not supposed to be so lovey-dovey with him (plus...she doesn't have any pointed ears!!!), in the book she was nothing like that. Frankly, the movie failed in my eyes.

Yeah, the book was pretty good, compared to all these other new releases.
