Yes! Marching band rules. Rehersals for me start tommarow, though that is just the freshmen day (Have to be there, I'm a co-section leader). Though since I skipped a year of marching band, and we got a new director, I'm out of pratice and I know none of the commands. Oh well, at least I sort of remember how to march. Mesa a trumpet player, and I know everyone hate us cause of this, but we rock!!!!!! And for any other trumpet players out there, I now tell you the first two rules to trumpet playing. You can never have to many trumpet players, and they can never be too loud. Those rules drive most directors insaine. My band is going to Disney Land for our trip next year. This year band isn't doing a trip, instead the orchestra is. We're going to New York to compete in the National Orchestra Cup.

Our Band is looking to go to Japan in 2008, This year were going to the Gateway to the West! Lol I Love Lassiter. But the only problem I have with Trumpets is they all seem to dislike holding their 1pd horn up. Well thats great I have to hold a horn that's 9times more heavy! Lol But aside from that they are cool. This year we have two freshmen in the Euphs.

Sweet, a euphonium player. That was my secondary instrument for a while, but because of the need of good trumpets in band, I haven't seriously played it in over a year. My band needs freshmen in the euphonium section, since all we have left is one from the previous years. Yeah, I hear you about trumpets and holding their horns up, it's a problem among many of the trumpets in my section. Problem is they learn to play on their lips uneavenly so they naturaly play downwards.

I love the Trumpets! Lol But most of my friends are in the Bones. Low Brass always are friends. I've thought about being a Tuba, but I'm just to lazy to do it. Lol

you guys have a pit for marching games, that's interesting. I'm not really fond of pits. I was in a pit orchestra my freshmen year, and it was okay, but for the amount of work we did, and the amount of respect the pit got (which was basicly nothing, we hardly even got recognized), I'm not so sure I would do it again.

First day with the freshmen was today, it went awsome. So far they are proving to be better than most of the returning trumpets. That makes me happy, cause of alot of the returning trumpets don't even want to be in the program. So I'll take all the good freshmen I can get.

i was in band 4 years, i got tired of it. i was third chair trumpet (we were ranked by chair out of 26 other trumpet players). i started out on precussion on a bell kit, lost interest in that within month or two and picked up the trumpet. after those 4 long years i got tired of the schools band program completely and i dropped that and continued with the instrument that got me into music in the first place....the guitar!!! sure it was fun sometimes but ive never looked back

well, school band programs can only do so much. If you want to learn to like trumpet in my opinion, you have to go into jazz. It's the best course to take for trumpet players in my opinion, there is just no other musical style out there that offers as much to trumpet players. Band music is so. . . . . meh at times. I think if you had gone into jazz you might have enjoyed the trumpet a bit more.
