As odd as it sounds, there may be some logic to that, in as much as that Jenna was the reason he became attached to Rosie. But I think even if Jenna had spurned his affections outright he still would have tried for Rosie's sake. Balto doesn't seem like the type to put his own interests first. I think one way or the other he would have tried to help.

On the other hand, there's a point to be made that if Jenna hadn't fallen in love with him he never would have even reached the medicine; the bear would have gotten him.

This was basically everything I was about to say.

He probably wouldn't have had the drive to do what he did, had she not expressed any form of like or Interest in him.
Old topic this is but I suppose it didn't hurt for me to chime in ^^

Oh, I'm not saying he wouldn't have had the drive at all; I can easily see him doing it for Rosie's sake, as I said before, even if Jenna wanted nothing to do with him. I mean heck, he even wanted to help Steele. I don't think he'd shy away from saving a little girl just because her dog didn't like him.

Since we are NOT being realistic about this and we are just going to pretend that this movie was for real then i would say that she'd stick with steele and very much disenjoy her life

Assuming she was stupid enough to go for Steele in the first place. I imagine a lot of girls can be fooled on some level by looks, or else a lot of advertisers would probably be out of business. But to say that women are all stupid or gullible?

Well, if these two didn´t end up together there wouldn´t be these low budget sequels.

Anyways, it´s a movie and I think Jenna, as a character was only created to be Balto´s "love" so there was no other use for her and that´s it.

Like that's not of value in and of itself? There's no better motivation for a true fighter than the safety of his loved ones. One might fairly say it's the only valid motivation a warrior can have.

You got to remember Jenna saved Balto from the bear attack. So if Jenna and Balto never fell in love then obviously Balto would be dead which would mean that the medicine would never make it back and almost all the kids would be dead as well. And that would also mean no sequels (whether that's good or not is up to you)

This is a movie where all the characters have an important role.

That is a good point, I must admit. I find myself wishing sometimes that I didn't use it so often in my own stories.
