I'm reading Big Red.
It's about this boy named Danny who find's a Red Setter named Sylvester Boy owned by his father, Ross' landlord, Mr. Haggin. So when Danny goes home, he finds the Setter laying on the cabin porch. So as he takes the Setter back to Mr. Haggin, Danny wants to know what it would be like to own a Setter for a day, so he and the Setter he calls Red go off. The Setter points at birds until they find Old Majesty, a giant bear who had killed many livestock. Red runs Old Majesty into the forest. So Danny goes home and get's his gun and runs back to the forest. Finally by the next morning he finds Red and Old Majesty. So Danny holds Red and Old Majesty runs away. Danny takes Red back to Mr. Haggin. Mr. Haggin says he's going to take Red to a dog show in New York and he wanted Danny to know about it because he wanted Danny to be able to handle Red at the next dog show.
All that happened in the first chapter, Irish Setter.

Currently, I'm in between finishing the 2nd book of Warriors: The New Prophecy (Moonrise, just finished yesterday) and waiting for the 3rd book of the same series (Dawn, which I have on hold whenever it gets into the library).
