No, you shouldn't do this, PowerDVD and WinDVD allow you to change the region code of your drive a limited number of times (5 times)
If you want to read your dvds without worrying about this, I said there are players that do not check the region codes and read all the dvds.

This might be off-topic but I'm going to be getting the Balto DVDs somewhat soon, (Like when I can drive by myself, at age 16, in October this year), and I was wondering if there is anything I should know about this region code business before I get them, as I intend to "rip" (I hate using that word) them to my computer and make music videos.
