Once my teacher was reading this creepy book, The City of Ember. It was weird.

i actually kinda enjoyed this book, but that's probably cuz my english teacher explained it so well. and sorry, i am a harry potter fan... but as for a book i hate, that would have to be "the pigman". talk about a stupid book! there's probably other books i hate too, but none of 'em are coming to mind right now.

That's what happened to us too; we were so behind schedule, we had to stop reading half way into the book, and the teacher explained the second half to us. The reading half was boring as heck, but it all came together when the teacher explained it.
As for The Pigman, wasn't that written by Paul Zindel? Because Paul writes some REEEEEEEAALLY bad-@$$ suspense/horror stories!! I love all of them!! Try reading "Rats", "Loch", "The Doom Stone", "Raptor", and "Reef of Death". They're all the most enjoyable books I've read so far.

It's so hard to believe that ha can have two completely different writing styles!! But I agree with you there, The Pigman sounded quite pointless indeed.

I had nightmares about Miss Havisham for a week!! LOL!! The movie was an even bigger disgrace, however...

it was pretty funny- my teacher kept screeching "broken!", and then when we watched the movie, we told him that he did a better job than the actress, lol!

Being on the Academic Team I was forced to read Johnny Tremain, which surprisingly I liked.
Has anybody read or listened to a teacher read The City of Ember? It was about a city in this dark world which was kinda creepy because in a dark world and nothing could survive, how could the builders survive building the city?

I've got a new book I hate. Edward Tulane. Talk about a dumb book! It's about a rabbit made of china who is lost so many times. I like the dog who chews him up and the hobo and his dog, those are the only characters I like. The rabbit can't even move or talk, he just sits around and thinks, dumb huh?
