By far! I've only seen parts of Balto 1, but I know Jodi Benson's voice from being forced to watch "The Little Mermaid" (Jodi was the main character in that) when I was a kid... but I don't think Bridget Fonda would have a good singing voice... I personally think it would be better if: 1. they had a more complex singer for Jenna, 2. tweaked the lyrics so that the meaning of the song isn't so blatantly obvious, and 3. tweaked the music so that it doesn't sound so corny... (I know what the songs are like since I heard the recordings of them on the main site.)

Jodi Benson was also Lady's singing voice in Lady and the Tramp 2, as small as her part was.

Personally, I have NEVER liked how modern cartoon movies have become practical musicals. Look at any classic Disney movie...no singing by the characters (certainly not songs like you'd hear in a musical). Or even the classic, though much more recent, Don Bluth movies (Don Bluth also, incidentally, having been a Disney animator)...his signature piece The Secret of NIMH, and also the original Land Before Time (no singing by ANY of the characters in these). Each of these had sequels made for TV (or direct-to-video, which all stunk, or so I hear...and had singing in them), but you get my point. Now, I don't know about An American Tailor All Dogs Go To Heaven (whether or not any of the characters sung in them)...as I have not seen these.
But the tendency of modern production companies to make cartoon movies into cartoon movie MUSICALS really stinks. BAD. And so, while I did really like Balto 3, and can tolerate Balto 2, I did not like ANY of the songs sung by the characters.

Agreed!!! I love Bridget and Jodi's voices
But I don't think Bridget would sound very good at singing though. Personally.

Thanks Simba...
...still, I hate musical cartoons. I really, really do. I think that sort of thing takes away from the overall impact of any movie (be it cartoon or live-action). Especially because the songs in the cartoons are usually overly-saccharine, insipid, and generally irritating to listen to. I usually fast-forward through them (as I always do in Balto 2 and Balto 3).
It's nice to NOT have to do that in cartoon movies like Balto, Lady and the Tramp, The Secret of NIMH, The Land Before Time, The Sword In The Stone, How The Grinch Stole Christmas (the songs the Who's sing in the square aside, which are very nice songs actually), etc.

Hmmmm. I don't mind Musicals at all. The Land Before Time is the most stupid and dum animated movie I've ever seen! I mean, I can stand every one of The Land Before Time films, except the 1st Then again, I hate all Don Bluth's films except for All Dogs Go To Heaven.
I personally love Jenna's song in WoC. Jodi sang it beautifully, and the film wouldn't be anything without it. Jenna lets the viewers know of how close Balto is to Kodi, in the most wonderful way. Fair enough, the song is a little corny. But I love Jodi's singing/talking voice, and the song that she sings. Mostly because WoC is my fave Balto movie

Well, I was referring only to the original Land Before Time. And I cannot imagine why you "hate" a movie like The Secret of NIMH, which is widely considered his best film ever (you said "all" of his except All Dogs Go To Heaven).
As to Jenna's song, she could have easily let the viewers know how close Balto is to Kodi simply by talking to him...the way she talked to Balto about different things in the original Balto movie.

Hmmmmm. Well...Secret of NIMH was...okay I guess. I loved the crow
And yes, yes. She could've talked. But I thought the singing much more cute and romantic
That's...just...me...

IMO, I thought the idea of Jenna singing to Balto about their son was a wonderful way to show Balto (and the viewers) that Kodi looked up to him and no matter what the outcome was to be, he would always have his father to be proud of him.
And was I the only one that was envisioning Ariel and not Jenna during that song? (Yes, I know they're voiced by the same person - Jodi Benson . . . quite a wonderful and talented actress/singer/Broadway star; you don't have to remind me, thanks!)
Actually, I thought her overall performance as Jenna in WoC was wonderful (not as good as her TLM performance of course), both singing and speaking. She really improved since WQ (she seemed a bit too motherly IMO.).
