It worked well on my PC but SKYPE fooled my music in it

Yeah, that would be cool! I have to get my hands on a book first though, for my school work, and we live about 50 miles from a bookstore and our library only rents old books. I'll post back here once I get it

I've done some programming myself and I can say that although parts of it would be difficult it's not impossible to do. The biggest issue I think you would have isn't programming the game (You could probably get away with doing it in VisualBasic.NET or C#...although you'd probably want a better programming app suited to games) the biggest issue would be the graphics, which will either make or break your game. Since all the games in the end would depend on math in some way shape or form.
I've been toying around with a Balto Game idea myself....it's not as in depth but I think it would be fun.....lol I'll have to dust off my programming materials though I haven't touched hardly any of it in over a year.

Well, right now my dad and i are still thinking about the main basics of the first game. For the second one though, we're gonna need to ask Universal if we can make it. If they regect both, we can still do the first one since it is based on history, and no corporation can claim history. and thanks for all the replies guys, I apreciate it, especially with all the advice they have

Oh, don't waste your time, go for it. They don't care anymore about Balto anyway. (yes I'm still angry at the answer we got to the petition)

First you need to figure out what platform you're going to make it on (Windows, Mac OS, or Linux) and then what game engine / language you're going to use. That would be the first step. There's a TON out there so I can't really suggest one or another. If you don't know anything about programming a good place to start learning about basic concepts is VisualBasic.NET 2005 Express which is a FREE download from Microsoft. C# is more advanced it's basically VisualBasic with C syntax. Although keep in mind that VisualBasic.NET and C# (C-Sharp) can make games they really aren’t designed for it. I mean you COULD do it but it would take a ton of work. You’d essentially have to make your own game engine in VB.NET or C#. But if you’re really new to the programming scene then I would seriously suggest VisualBasic.NET to get you started learning the concepts of coding and organization. (Sorry if this doesn't make a lot of sense! ) I'll try to think of some others! PM me if you need anything!
PS Here is an example of a VisualBasic.NET app I did in school http://www.lakoswolf.com/PaycheckPro.zip (It’s not a game though so I guess it’s a bit off topic but it’ll give you an example of a VisualBasic.NET app.) You’ll need to have the .NET framework installed to use it as you would for any .NET app.

Ahh, actually everything you say makes a whole lot of sense. Thanks for the site, I will definantly download that program today. I am new to every aspect of game programming, but I am a fast learner. Thanks for all your help Lakoswolf!

You're most welcome! Keep me posted! Maybe I can learn a thing or two about more in depth game programming myself! The game I was thinking about is very simple but it would be great if it could be more complex. I donno yet just starting to develop it.
