I watched it on my way to Minnesota. Try viewing the movie in a moving van, pitch black outside and the only light is the TV screen.
It really brings out some of the tones of the film.
All in all, a great anime movie. I wish I owned it. The one I watched was my friend's.

The movie was just beautiful to watch and get lost in, the animation of the animals (especially the wolves ^^) was particularly wonderful to watch and the music was haunting and grand. Also loved the Kodamas, I thought it was great how when they all moved together it sounded like wind rustling through the trees.
Yeah, those things made me laugh. Especially when that guy is afraid of it, but it's just sitting there

Haha, yeah that scene was funny, I always chuckled at the scene where they're leading him through the forest and they start copying him by carrying each other on their backs.

XD LOL, the incredibly fat kodama riding on top of the smaller one.

I love this movie!! I bought it at Best Buy a month or so ago. I first saw it on Cartoon Network with my friend. When we saw the guy's arms get cut off, we freaked! But we watched the rest of it, and after a while, we got used to it, and liked it. Every time I see Yakule, Ashitaka's elk, I keep saying in my head "I want that elk!!" But I can't tell anyone about the blood that's in it, because I'm only a kid and my family doesn't want me watching that stuff, so I can only watch it when no one's around or late at night. But all and all, I LOVE Princess Mononoke. My favorite character of all time in that movie is Moro, so I got pretty sad when she died. *sniff* I tried to draw her, but man she is actually kinda hard.
My favorite line:
"The trees cry out as they die, but you cannot hear them. I lay here, I listen to the pain of the forest, and feel the ache of the bullet in my chest. And I dream of the day when I will finally crunch that gun woman's head in my jaws."
